Not my thing. It's like living in a super posh hotel with prison like security features. Although there's some great architecture, top craftsmanship and art involved it's so impersonal that I become lonely and sad by just looking at the pics.

Yeah but could do with some quid to finish me own shack. I'll get a lottery ticket...

Didn't open the link so can't comment on it but in general I've never seen the fascination with looking at other people's wallpaper and their decor no matter what it cost.

If I had that sort of money I wouldn't be buying someone else's ideas.

Agreed. Hotels never appealed, nor houses which are built and designed which give off that vibe or show house type feel. Might be great to look at the odd time or visit once or twice and be “suitably impressed by” but I tend to get nearly depressed thinking about living in a place like that.

For my life to be so devoid of personality and individuality. To feel like a guest in my own home - bleurgh - literal body shivers!

Some money to buy my own place would go down very smoothly tho

I’ve had to opportunity to work in houses that tens of thousands up to tens of millions over the years and very often it’s former that appeals to me more. There is a more personal touch when it comes to people building family homes. Very often the lavish mansions just feel like a work of art more than a family home.

I wouldn't like a house like that. If I won the lotto I'd still just buy a nice small house with a bit of land. No point in a massive house when it's just me pottering about in it. Those houses just look like show pieces than a home.

Having worked in some massive houses around Dublin and Kildare I realised they don’t interest me, no homely atmosphere or cosy feel.

$1M will be enough to me to open my own small business somewhere in warm climate, and live a good life

If i had that much money i would rather buy an old property an rennovate it. Something with character would be my preference.
