" In our office the majority of 150+ staff are now working from home, for a lot it works, but most will say they miss the crack etc from the office. I work 2 of my shifts in the main office and the other 4 in an office closer to home. I worked from home for a few weeks and the 8-6 and 2-12 shift was okay but the overnights were horrible. Plus I'm a people person I'm home alone as such and I need to be around people. I miss my friends, I have missed neen able to go see them on my days off but I know things will get better and will Have plenty of time to makeup for the things we have missed.

"I am just waiting now for schools and colleges to be closed.... surely they will close them right ..?? Miss meeting for a social too... heard Costa was rife with sick baristas " only thing stopping them closing schools is childcare, who will mind the kids for mammy and daddy plus leaving cert students. What happens there. A plan should be in place.

"I am just waiting now for schools and colleges to be closed.... surely they will close them right ..?? Miss meeting for a social too... heard Costa was rife with sick baristas " I don’t think they will. A lot of kids nearly went mad last time. The numbers are high now and no schools open so I can’t see it happening

How's it not?? Home schooling?? How are parents expected to be able to teach a curriculum even for primary school. Jeez all you have to do is read some of the profiles and posts from adults on here to realise not everyone could homeschool a kid.

" It is not the schools that are driving this. That has been proven. It's adults who despite everything we've been made aware of for the last 10 months continue to act in an ignorant and self serving fashion. Its also the responsibility of parents who can't control their adolescent kids and let them attend 18th birthday parties etc. There is a very prominent grammar school in belfast with some very affluent families, parents solicitors, doctors and dentists etc and they all had to self isolate after 23 17/18 year olds attended an 18th birthday party and a significant number of them tested positive. So the 2 whole year groups had to stay home. It's time people stopped looking at blaming others and schools, it's the behaviour outside schools and repercussions need to be much tougher. Every single one of those kids and their parents should have had a police caution and it go on their record. It's not OK, there is no excuse, we all know the consequences by this stage. And perhaps if this pretentious lot didn't get in to their university of choice based on their covid caution they'd reflect on their behaviour rather than laugh at it as they are no doubt doing. Because they don't deserve to be the solicitors, doctors or dentists of tomorrow. The education of children esp young primary school children should not suffer as a consequence.

" nobody fully knows whether schools are a jumper for cases or not. one person says asymptomatic kids don't spread it, next person says, that's not true at all. all I'm saying is youngsters in a classroom for 6 or so hours a day, 5 days a week is not ideal. we talk about getting the number below 100. that will come in quicker time with a heavier lockdown. I totally agree with you on the house parties but you can't stop them, that's personal responsibility, same is gatherings after funerals etc. we have seen a huge surge at the moment after the festive period. hopefully come middle of January and behind we will see it subside.
