A bottle of booze

I literally gets dozens of these at Christmas from suppliers so a secret santa of a bottle of anything wouldn't be appreciated

My favorite gift to recieve is a charity donation no matter how small

Bloody boxes of beauty products you never use. I love certain products from certain brands but sometimes I’m given a whole box of random stuff for a skin type I don’t have and I never use it. Such a waste. I’ve started bringing them back to swap for something I do use or regifting them.

Ok- lets be honest. Its only ever the outlaws that give me the shite presents.. i wish they would keep their money.

See, this is one of the many reasons I dislike Christmas, people are pressured into spending money they don't have on shit other people don't want.

I’ve made a rule now that if it’s not something they specifically want or need, I’ll give them a voucher. But I put a lot of thought into gifts. A lot.

My town

I had a ex mother in law and one day sarcastically I said I liked the perfume poison.

The next Christmas and for my birthday I got bottles of the stuff, even now I can smell it and it literally makes me want to vomit

I gave up giving presents years ago. People pressurise themselves into buying stuff that others don't want and receive things they don't want either. I've told my friends and family to spend their money on themselves not me. Also the craziness of shopping has a bad affect on me

For secret santa in work this year, a couple of people gave 20 euro notes in an envelope.

To me that's the worst gift you could do. Why bother sign up if you're gonna put in zero effort.

Flip

Perhaps best to make it in your own name and just let your Secret Santa know the cause

If i get one more plane blue or brown t-shirt I will crack up. And then after eating half a tin of quality street and drank two bottles of wine your auntie insists you try it but you it's so small, and you have put on some much weight over christmas that you look like you burst all over the living room!!

Dunboyne

Socks/slippers/jumpers!

Of the only one I wear, I have plenty thanks.

I give a food/preserve/condiment that I make myself and will last a few weeks/months at least to family. Always appreciated but never enjoyed by every single member of every family but hey! at least they get to try something they wouldn't have otherwise and know whether they like it or not.

Something of a Korean delicacy preserve this year methinks

I like the things I get for Secret Santa. I never been disappointed so far. I think elves must help him

You have to think in a positive way: talk openly about the likes and dislikes to avoid to get an unwanted gift

It is one of many hints. Good to do the research (I do every year) and it is really hard to get something up to €10, so I buy things between 10-20 EUR. And the moment to see the smiley face- priceless!

I think we women pay more attention to buy something nice for Secret Santa

Not really a wine drinker so I couldn’t tell you the quality. A bottle of red, white and Prosecco if anyone is interested.

Add your family members maybe?

Red wine can be used for roasted lamb, beef, duck and goose

White one for mussels, chicken, fish ( drink or make a sauce yum!)

Prosecco tastes great with chocolate mousse and strawberries
