The North "Remebers".. to be friendly

What is in the water up there?

I was under the impression for so long that Nordies were maybe.. kind of cold or stern. But on Fab that assumption has been dashed. I have found them to be quite a bit more friendly than my southern peeps to talk to,. They just seem more up to chat or have light hearted banter. Is there some reason for this? Has anyone else south of the border noticed this?

I’m so confused.... does this mean people toast their bread in a toaster in a cupboard or do they take the toaster out, toast the bread and put the toaster away after? I can’t compute either scenario and am beginning to wonder if this is in fact fab code for something wholly unconnected to toast???

Oh it surely is and then some. But maybe my expireance is just an outlier, kind of why I am asking about it and if others have found this to be the case. I have just found they reliably are just very friendly on Fab

I find most are fairly friendly on here, i haven't interacted a whole lot with nordies on here yet. Outside of fab yes and for surely definitely a friendly bunch across the border. As are South, East, West, and surrounding areas of Ireland also. I don't have any favouritism ok ok well maybe one the old corconians of course lol.

I concur - the Corconians are the friendliest on Fab, the exception being Limerick people

Yep my experience too.. Way more open and friendlier than people from the republic.. Don't know why? Perhaps legacy of the troubles

The Nordies are the funniest people ever. Best banter

Dubs are gas but humour is often derogatory, whereas Nordies humour isn't personal, usually and that's the main difference in "them and us".

Southern counties humour is so often personal but Ulster humour, if personal, tends to be in an uplifting, do better for yourself kind of vein, not putting you down, rather encouraging you to do better.

Not sure if this makes sense but as a half Nordie myself and having spent quite a bit of my life crossing the border, that's my perspective on it.

I absolutely love Nordies

Northern humour is renowned for being black, brought about by a generation or more of using humour as a survival tool.

We learned to laugh at ourselves and as a result humour crossed a lot of boundaries.

As far as being more friendly or inclusive we are no different to any other part of the country.

Some are and some aren't.

Working up north I find the people so friendly and love to chat I’m always offended a cuppa which doesn’t always down happen south that’s just I’m experience xx

Lol lol it was funny to read these posts, don’t you know we just don’t like each other up here we absolutely love everyone else lol! Im joking of course let it be known that the hardiest of Nordie haters have been tamed with a few trips up here, we are some of the best and friendliest people and I have had some stares while offering sweeties on the tube in London lol lol there are some dickheads of course like everywhere they do grow in dark places!
