I'm always amused at the number of timeouts I've had, and I don't think I've ever abused anyone. There has always, and will always, be abuse in private mails. The world is full of angry, jealous people who want to get a reaction. It's never pleasant but there's bugger all can be done to stop someone sending an abusive message in private. In theory, if people either report them or just simply block them that will be the end of that. Abuse in chatrooms and on the forum is a different matter. The forum is easy enough to deal with but chat less so. If people could learn to just ignore them the problem would be solved fairly quickly once you haven't given them personal information. | |||

I don't have to suspect it because it's actually very easy to put together when you link various posts in different threads with status updates. There is no attempt to hide because that's all part of the game. It's giving people the middle finger while they hide in plain site laughing at the reaction. There are other well known posters who have received forum bans for getting into rows with the trolling profiles while at the same time the person or persons behind the troll are on the same thread encouraging the chaos. How do I know that others are involved? I only have to read the veris on said persons profile to see the in joke comments and name dropping. Maybe I need to get a life?
It's honestly not difficult to see if you know what to look for so I'm not spending hours trawling through profiles.

"It has it's good points but there's an awful lot of people looking for attention. The status feature should be done away with. People posting statuses mentioning other people is pointless. Just message them rather than telling the world. Sounds like a great big conspiracy theory doesn't it except for the fact these people have openly admitted to others what they are doing and drop hints in their forum posts like a nod and a wink. Its all a game to them. I feel sorry for those that get sucked in and fooled by them . A large percentage of the forum trolls are extremely well known forumites playing games. They have been here years and are well verified and are normally very vocal in the forums so it's all become a game for them and they don't care what damage they do. I'm kinda gobsmacked by this. I am well aware of the main troll who comes and goes in various guises who I cant seem to stop reacting to... but I was honestly completely unaware that other forum members had other profiles that they use to troll. You then happen to see a new profile chatting very familiar with another forum member and then a reference is made to something that makes you think Hang on a minute, so it makes you observe and then you realise hey they are both the same profile. | |||
