That Friday feeling

Having just read two seperate articles I was struck by 3 particular comments.

The first was made by Bruce Springsteen in relation to what is missing in the White House since Trump first came to power.

"We have lost our mojo, our fun, our happiness, our cheering on of others - the shared experience of humanity that makes it all worth it".

The second quote is from Gareth O'Callaghan directly referencing Springsteen's thoughts when he says

"People who hate need to be reminded that no one else really cares about them and in a very short time the people who are filled with hate for whatever purpose will find themselves shouting at a mirror because the rest of the world will have moved on with their precious lives and the angry bullies will be left behind"

The third is from Katherine Hepburn in relation to an experience when her father gave $20 to a poor family so they could go to the circus.

"The Giver is bigger than the Receiver. If you want to be large, larger than life, learn to Give."

Something to ponder as we go about our day and even if we don't subscribe to any of the above they clearly apply to many aspects of life including the microcosm of fab forums.

Somewhere in Co. Down

That is a great post RB.

It's very true and well written and pretty much spot on as well. It is something to think about even this early on a Friday.

It is very much true of real life and sadly the forums as of late. Those who seem to shout the loudest and could start an argument in a telephone box and seem to take great pleasure in putting others down constantly seem to be becoming the norm in here.

It's a pity the saying you should never look down on someone unless you are giving them a hand up isn't thought of more often.

But then it's the internet and you will always get those who just love to stir and seek attention no matter if it's negative or positive. All anyone can do is control their reaction to it. The same as we do in real life .

But definitely a thought provoking read on a damp Friday morning.

It’s only when you start to practice the act of “giving” that you find out the benefits.
