I would have no interest in this.

Shooting almost tame pheasants that were reared 6 months ago is hardly fair.

most of the time they are reared in pens and driven across a line of shooters who pay to shoot pheasant. It's not hunting it's shooting

Driven shoots are not all that prevalent in Ireland. More like walking fields for hours with the gun and the dog and shoot one maybe two pheasants.

Many pheasants get killed by cars because they have no real life survival skills after they have been released

killed cos people eat them same as chickens, turkeys, cows and pigs etc, just guys always need to put other guys posts down on here for a bit of attention with pointless replies, then you have dumb fuckers who haven't a brain cell to reply so they throw it's your mother out.

For me its all about my dogs working and hunting!! Ill shoot a handful of pheasants throughout the season for people who ask for them, but I tend to concentrate on woodcock

I'd say it's nearly gone in Ireland only a handful do it now

Used to do it years ago walk for hours with a good dog and if you were lucky you might get one or 2

Don't think there's any driven shoots in Ireland could be wrong

Lots of pheasants released each year but I'd say mink and pine martins do most of the damage to them

I'm in the middle y the sticks so I have a idea of what goes on in nature

Wandering between the city and East Cork

Shoot pheasant and duck here too.

The driven hunts are more an english/estate house set up.

In Ireland it's rough shooting, one or two people out with a dog walking through the woods/fields.

Whatever we shoot, we eat. If anything is wounded we always track it rather than abandon it.

Lots of game reserves in the area too to allow the wild birds thrive so it's not all farm bred birds for release etc

Gun clubs do a lot of conservation work that goes un noticed and vermin control as well

Haven't had fuck or pheasant in about 10 yrs I'd say my granny rip used to love to see us coming home with ducks or pheasants and boy could she prepare a feast with them

She always used to say get me a duck or two the week before Xmas and she would put them inside the turkey

That old generation of people could live with nature and fed a nation with feck all

There’s a some driven shoots alright but bar an exception here or there these would be pretty much ran on a commercial basis. Best way to look upon it in my opinion is free range pheasant rearing and you pay for the privilege of killing your own. Not much difference with buying a live turkey for Christmas that you have to sort out for the oven by yourself.

I used a cribbet trap before to trap pheasants.. Not a whole lot of meat on them.. Think I'd sooner buy a chicken in a shop

Because its a thread about hunting? A legal pastime.....

Not one I personally find tasteful but it seems like the exact right place for the poster to put their comment

You allowed to use ARs? Here we not allowed. Well except AR shotgun for turkey and small game.
