Just out of curiosity do people like to keep their profession discreet on here or are they proud of what they do?

Professionals don't like to be discreet.

I wouldn't say I'm proud of what I do, I don't have a particularly pride worthy job, although I am proud of my accomplishments within my career. I don't discuss my profession here because it's usually not relevant!

Those arent the only 2 options.. A Fabber being discreet about their profession doesnt mean they arent proud of what they do.

Also love what i do. Proud of it??? Maybe but it beats the shit out of start i used to do and being happy going to work in the mornings makes for a very happy chappy. Best thing I ever did was change career paths. Everything happens for a reason. One door shuts another one opens and all that jazz

I like my job. But my work and my life on here have no relevance to each other. Some on here know what I do but it's not something that really should matter to anyone else. I work to live not live to work.

I like to know what a person does because it tells me something about them. My job isn't just a job, it's a massive part of my life and something I'm really passionate about. So chats about careers and ambition are a major plus for me when texting a man.

I ask what a person does to see if it fits in with the mind picture I've been creating based on their profile, any forum comments, and interaction so far. I'm fine-tuning my people reading skills. Get it spot-on at times, and others way off the mark. So I don't judge people based on their occupation, unless it's something they witter endlessly about, then they need to get a life

Nothing as bad as listening to someone who constantly talks about themselves and their job it's like only for them the world would cease to revolve...

It's flat so can only revolve on one axis.

Your private life can have an impact upon your employment. Many professional roles have contracts which explicitly discuss 'bringing [company/agency/firm/organisation] into disrepute.'

This can be far reaching and it is the reason that many, I suspect, keep aspects of their lives very private and act with a lot of discretion.

Totally agree with you on that.

Last company i worked for fired 2 managers because they got pregnant and had not declared to management & HR that they were dating even though they were in 2 separate departments of the company which didnt impact or affect their work.

This is so true. I told a guy from here where I worked once, and then we met, and things went bad. I blocked him everywhere... He started ringing my work, and even dropped a "gift" into reception for me. It was genuinely scary.
