Theyll be no dry Januarys any more

Plenty more counties will be in level 4 soon and I feel very sorry for gym owners and hairdressers if that happens

I'm still saying we will mostly be in level 2-3. Maybe the midterm break will have an added week and a lockdown. If it doesn't get much worse. The precautions can't be worse than the disease that is the main thing to remember. I think our government seems to get that.

They have completely lost the run of it. How can you work beside somebody all day in an office but cant see them in your garden after work. But you can go and sit in a beer garden with them and 100 other randomers. We should all move into schools. They obviously have some kind of magic ring around them that covid cant get past.

Because they're not limiting activity based on a yes / no equation of whether you can catch covid. If that was the case we wouldn't be allowed to go grocery shopping either. They're doing it based on risk level balanced against sustaining the economy.

Offices are supposed to be socially distanced, by the way. Under the current regulations you shouldn't be working "beside" anyone. And you shouldn't be in a beer garden with 100 people either - 15 max. But businesses and people are not complying with those regulations, so up a level we go.

Eh, you cant work beside someone in your office all day. Have ye not put in social distancing measures? We had to rearrange our office, space out all our desks, stagger WFH schedule so people beside eachother arent in at the same time, and if you are within 2m of someone, facemask and gloves.

Ok I dont actually work in an office so it was probably a bad example. I did have to do a cpc course last month in a hotel function room with 11 other random truck drivers that you dont know are they in of the ferry that morning or what. There was no 2 meter distance between all them tables. Most in there had masks off once in the room. It just all seems abit all over the shop at the moment. I understand its difficult trying to balance the economy too but the schools and ports are obvious problems. It doesn't make sense to have 30 kids form different families in the same room all day but you cant visit your family now. Like alot of things lately. Even these checkpoints and manufactured traffic jams. If they have that many spare garda going why didnt they just put them up the border counties and make checkpoints up there. We still dont even have a proper track and trace system in place yet.I just think it's time go hard or go home. Either proper full lockdown for few weeks or just go the Sweden route and let it run wild. Plus it has me all over the shop. I dont know what level we are on anymore. Dont know what month we are in. Dont know who is Taoiseach anymore. Weigh twice as much now as I did in March. Balls to 2020

some of the rules are similar. Private houses are rampant with covid. I think this new restriction is aimed at eliminating house contacts while striking a balance to keep businesses open for eg pubs.

You know that saying ..

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results ?!

Unfortunately the majority will follow the measures and slow the spread but it only takes 1 to start it all over again

Take a look at a pic of AC current, that's Covid 19's projected curve over time until we find a vaccine

Well it's easier to target homes because we don't have a union or lobby group who turn up on TV with dopey arguments about why they should be exempted.

Honestly, I wish we had just gone full New Zealand during the summer.... I've a friend who just returned there and apart from him having to quarantine on arrival and not going abroad, life there is normal. He was saying it was really emotional to actually hug someone again

Meeting parents is allowed as you may be caring for you parents, helping them in some way with day to day chores.

If your parent provide you childcare or babysitting that is allowed.

But ideally meetings of any type, with people you do not live with, should be done wearing a mask, even if you are out doors...no pub, restaurant etc should have more than 15 in the out door space.

The sooner the better

Lockdown again for 3 weeks and hopefully get a grip on this pandemic that’s rapidly getting worse .

Some People just won’t have manners and everyone has to suffer unfortunately

God help the elderly with the long dark lonely nights

You have parents on fb whinging to close schools, the very same people only a wet week ago looking for them to be open. The whole problem with case rises is hospitals cant cope. The government had 7 months to change the outlook of hospitals with more beds, ICU care etc and did jack shit. Now look where we are.

"It seems alot here have no issue whatsoever going to level 5."

Part of the problem for me is that I can do nothing much about it except change my own behaviour

I used to worry on behalf of everyone else at the start of this ....losing jobs,,family problems , money problems but I cant do that anymore as it wrecked my head

I concentrate on myself and my family, my staff and thats it

I've managed to keep 15 people on full pay doing whatever hours they want to work ,from home or the office once the work gets done and if I have to keep doing that for another couple of months fine

I don't care about people in Donegal or Cork or anywhere else if I'm being honest

While i want everyone to stay safe I can't worry about going to level 5 ,I'll see how to get through it if it happens and thats it

I know many people who have lost jobs and who own businesses. Was only talking to 2 of them last night. After spending oodles of money on the premises and if we go to l4 or 5 they're gone. It's very very difficult now to feel for people
