"I actually did this yesterday. I had the worst period cramps and endo flare up AND my electricity was cut off for maintenence, so I said fuck it, postponed client calls and went back to bed! It pissed rain all day and I was snuggled up in bed with my windows open listening to it and it was glorious. " I could have brought you a hot water bottle for your tummy and lay down beside you under my own duvet..sounds devine

"Today was a hard one for me at the end of what was a difficult week I wanted to pull the duvet over the head and ring in sick and its my bloody company for gods sake Has anyone ever done it and just had a great feckin day like Ferris Bueller " It's my company I have wanted to many times and go to bed after a shit day telling myself I am going to pull a sicky. Then I wake up in the morning and feel guilty about doing it. A kind of work ethic attitude kicks in and tells me it's not the right thing for me to do from what I have learned growing up. For me, I think it's more valuable turning up, you will learn something that day and it can possibly make you stronger. I keep the sick days for when I really will need them! F

It was never worth it. Bet you're glad now that you went in OP

The week seemed to catch a lot of people out with a pile on of crap

I just make sure to use it well, rest up, get outside, eat well and come back refreshed.

"I know its not the same when its planned, but we have a duvet day every now and then. Take the day off work, kids go to grandparents for the night. We blow up a matress in the living room, get the duvet and pillows out, drink wine and watch old movies. Its bliss. We were supposed to be staying away next month for a break but we've cancelled and have planned a duvet day instead." This sounds class! Personally I love taking a Monday off and just spending it being productive on myself rather than at work
