Hopefully Stephen Kenny's team can win tonight, massive lift for the country if we can pull it off.

You would hope so , but i think we will be lucky to get a draw. We just dont have the quality players of years gone by.

Draw might do, win on penalties would do

I hope so but current crop aren't as blessed as previous ones but hopefully they can play beyond their means and do well!

Its largely down to structure.Their could up to 9 starting premier league regulars,no excuse tonight, stand up and be counted. We need to encourage our players to play, keep it structured but by all means have abit of freedom when on the ball to do something. We shouldn't be afraid of possession,we will get a result tonight,we have a very strong back 4 which shouldn't be afraid, our midfield need to be hardworking and hopefully find a pass from somewhere but I expect us to use the channels alot with Connollys pace a good outlet for us.Set pieces as always will be huge for Ireland but we shouldn't hold any fear whatsoever of going over there,we need our two centre backs to play closer together than the last 2 games and we can nick an away win without doubt. Not saying its easy but we shouldn't be afraid.Come on you boys in green.

Cork/Limerick/Dublin

Skrinniar is a huge loss to slovakia..I expect a tough game nonetheless, but hoping we can do it..I don't care if Diggsy Mcgoldrick slaps one in off his cock in the 90th min..any win will do me.. COYBIG..

Unfortunately Kaizer does not share any optimism here!

At best a draw and pens

Think it might have come a bit too soon for Kenny to have made a difference.

But the whole not having the players thing isn't really true we have as many players playing at elite level atm as most international teams bar the obvious big nations.

Get in the wee GAWA, great result, ideal final would have been against Republic but home to the Slovaks will have to do

As International standards go ...we missed a sitter ...but then again so did they ...we have now lost our last two penalty shoot outs ...

Badly lack a goalscorer, we're almost always defensively solid no matter what team we pick because we've players with fantastic attitudes that'll run their legs off all day but its not enough. A little more creativity and a goal poacher would have us qualifying more often.

The game was pants today, Wales had no excuses considering the Irish played a game couple of days ago.

Yeah, but it was a friendly against England. There was a plenty of youth players and no Ramsey. The Irish game, was a big match and understanably your first choice players played.

Plus Ireland had the better chances at goal, than Wales.
