Limerick

At what point in the chat do you give your real name? Do you ever give it out? Or have you made good friends here who still think that your Fab name is your real name?

Usually when we meet over a coffee. If I think we are getting along. Within the first 30 minutes usually.

I dont usually give out my real name at all. If i have met them a few times, i’ll happily give then but i’ve had people look for my private social media & find it, sending me mails on them instead of here.

I hired Quest privately for my 50th birthday a couple of years ago. I got lots of birthday cards which I displayed in my living room. My mum was puzzled and said "why do so many of your friends think you are called Sally" !

Most people would call me Rosy even the one's that know my real name. At parties I would introduce myself as Rosy as it's less confusing to people.

Somewhere in Co. Down

Most people I've met and chat to just still know me as Bo. There are less than a handful on here who know my real name and they are good friends both on here and in real life.

Whilst 'Peter' isn't technically my name it's still what everyone, on and off Fab, know me as.

I've no problem or hangups telling anyone if they ask though!

My real name isn’t too common and everyone forgets it anyway lol but my real friends from here know my full name.

One of the last socials held turned into a birthday party for me and my full real name was called out I didn’t care though

Joking aside, we generally give our first names if we like the look of people. Last names definitely not

I’d give my real name to anyone I was meeting but last time I was here everyone called me lolli which could easily be a nickname for my real name so I didn’t mind!

Oh right. Different strokes....

Must be embarrassing though to become friends with someone over a period of time, they still only know you by your Fab name but you realise they had given you their real name from the beginning

where the wild roses grow

Giving my real 1st name is pointless, even my clan call me _oser. An uncle gave it to me as a nickname when I was about 12 and it stuck.

Only called my real name in work.

Havin said that my close fab friends know my full name

I've been given real names by some people on the forums before I knew what the private notes was for

Now I can't remember their real names when we message each other so I use their profile names

We use our real first names from the point where we think a chat has potential. We don't have pseudonyms. We'd forget them when referring to each other or speaking to one another and neither of us can be arsed with the effort it would take to sustain that

We never give our surnames though

We say our real names when meeting in person . Why going with a different identity ? Being worried someone finds out about you being on this site ?

Id say if a social goes well and a meet is agreed id be happy to give my real name. If the other person wants it. Its not altogether necessary though is it?
