I'm a big believer in manifestation and the power of positive thinking

Personally if I can visualise something, write it down even, it's much easier for me to work towards and achieve it.

I know right now we're living in uncertain times and so much is out of our hands but that means we ought to embrace what we actually can control

So with that in mind, what do you hope to achieve within the next year? Be it in your personal or professional life. There's no dream or goal too big or too small!

That new career path you've wanted to explore, the mountain you want to climb, the language you've wanted to learn to that bit of DIY that needs done around the house or even that social situation you want to feel more comfortable in!

Share them here and maybe you'll not only inspire yourself but others

I realise people come and go from here but threads are forever! So hopefully, wherever you are, this can be something you can look back upon in time and see what you've checked off and how far you've come

Very nice idea Pete! I've just started my own business so I've got a monthly income goal I'd love to reach. I also want to do some renovations at home and work on my mental health a bit.

I keep saying it every year but learning to swim is a big one so I’d love to say this time next year that I’m swimming laps.

Finally buy the house that I’ve been saving for as well as clearing any useless debt.

Being in a relationship would be nice but secretly I’ve resigned myself to that fact that’s not gonna happen and that’s not a good attitude to have unfortunately.

2. Continue to work towards a better future financial security, career wise

3. Continue to help family and friends where possible.

On furlough for almost 7 months and then to be told that. It wasn't pleasant but wasn't a shock either.

You'd mentioned the furlong alright

What way does it work up there,if they left you furlonged would the payment be bigger than the dole

Furlough is supposed to finish now in October and from the start of September it was reduced to 70% with employers having to make it up to 80%.

Dole is only £75pw.

So once the employer has to pay a few quid they let the employees go

Mind you some places are not going to keep going anyway

I have two years left of my five year plan. I started working for myself to clear old (massive) loans and I’m on track. Two more years and I might be able to have a life again! Also I’ve enrolled in an online diploma course that will also take two years. All going to plan for my 40th in two years time I’ll have achieved all of my goals and can celebrate with a massive trip somewhere

With it now four months down the line, albeit with little changing in the grand scheme of things, why not take a look back!

Is there anything anyone would like to add or pursue? I genuinely think writing something down, being able to refer to it, helps achieve it!

Lovely thread, nice to read back some of the posts.

I cleared some debt , have come off shift work and loving Mon- Fri, dumped some excess baggage (fake friends ) taking up pilates and skipping . I have buying myself a treat that I have wanted for years and the goal now is to drop the weight so can fit into the leathers to enjoy the treat

And maybe get the ride in 2021

I had a chat with a mutual friend of ours recently about this subject and it has happened to me a couple of times in my life. Even meeting my ex wife was an example as I fancied her for years and considered her out of my league.(turns out I should have stayed clear!! )

So here's to everyone achieving theirs!!
