Touring the South - is it open?

Having spent the last few weeks in the NW of the country we are having a little drive around the south and up to the west then back to the NW.

What is the state of play in restaurant and pubs- next Monday was due to show restrictions lifted?

Not looking to break any rules just hoping there may be some social scene on our travels?

Will start in Waterford to Cork and Galway then back to NW. Any recommendations as to what’s open and worth visiting- guessing there are no trad nights anymore??

Sorry it’s not a swinging thread but there is always next time to make friends !!

There is an update due to day which should change the guidelines for most of the country. Restaurants and pubs that serve food are allowed to open provided they follow the guidelines. Depending on how long you have been in the country maybe a challenge to booking some places.

Enjoy!

Press conference announcing details of new plan is at 11.30 am, it comes into effect at midnight. Counties or regions will be assigned levels depending on Covid incidence locally, it's expected the entire country apart from Dublin city will be at Level 2 (1 to 5 in ascending order of severity), at levels 1 and 2 wet pubs will be open from 21st, with restrictions in place on numbers.

The news is that yes, 25 counties (not Dublin) will have pubs allowed reopen Monday 21st.

Dublin has been put on level 2.5, how very Irish

Still tons to do , bit the bullet and head off. Plenty to see regardless you might just need an extra bit of patience, with queuing, max numbers in shops etc.

Not quite sure how Covid 19 will/is affect(ing)...but upstairs in The Crane Bar, Sea Road, Galway is worth checking out for some trad.
