I think they’re on the cards for me too tho... eeep. Are your teeth bad? Mine are just moving about and im getting weird jaw pain. Dentist said they would help for a bit but I’d need other worth. I’m sort of sticking my head in the sand about it to be honest.

Or are you talking about the things that hold up your trousers?

These days I'd look into the invisalign first as they are a fraction of the price.

They arent suitable for everyone, but the scan is free, and they email you a 3D model of your teeth, simulating how they will move, and the end result.

Mine aren’t bad but there not perfect either I’d say and 7 out of ten. I’d rather sort them now the down the road. The cost seems to have come down in the last few years aswell

Yeah was thinking along the lines of them as opposed to the traditional dentist. I think there a little cheaper are they?

Well I've had neither. But from what I've seen, the invisalign are less than half the price of the wire braces, and take about 6 months rather than years. Plus they are a lot less noticable. However only move the front 12 teeth.. 6 on top and bottom.

I got assessed by 2 different places and they both told me my teeth dont suit, so I'll need to get old school braces of I wanna fix them.

I'd def give invisalign a look first.

I Mr got invisalign braces about 7 years ago in Kilkenny. I wasn't all that bothered about how braces would look but I and price wise there old school was marginally more expensive and they also would have been off in half the time. I spent €3500 but you can claim back about €500.

Very happy with how they turned out but because plastic braced do not have traction on twisted teeth they might not always get your teeth 100% straight. I had two stubborn teeth that took and extra 9 months to turn bringing the total time to 18 months from a prediction of 12.

Make sure you ask the question about continued treatment until you are happy regardless of when they say the predicted treatment had ended. Also keep in mind that it's an extra couple of hundred quid to get a permanent retaining wire on the back of your teeth to stop movement after a couple of years. If you don't want to pay that they give you a free plaster mould to wear every night, I knew I wouldn't wear it do paid for the wired one. Hope that bit of info helps

This is the important bit

I've paid 8k to get my first 2 kids done

Both times it took longer than the dentist said it would and with all the extra trips it didn't cost anything extra

Exactly because some charge per extra visit and it's about €250. Again my predicted time was 10/12 months and ended closer to 20 months give or take a few weeks.

Thinking about getting ones aswell. Teeth aren't in bad shape but not sure which way to go as in invisalign or braces.
