The 'win lotto, first car' thread got me thinking.

I never learned to drive.

Never needed to and could never justify the costs to get a car on the road and deal with all the inevitable added costs to keep the thing going.

I have no desire to own a car anytime soon but I would have liked to have just learned how to drive.

Perhaps I'll make it my New Year Resolution.

Is there something you wished you did when you were younger but can still do in the future?

I'm the same with wanting to learn to drive. I commute daily to Dublin on the bus but after this year I'm expecting to move further afield with my next promotion so will be a necessity to drive then

Yeah I'd like to move out to the countryside one day and driving will be a necessity for that.

I can swim and love deep sea water and snorkeling

I can stay under water for a while but if I'm swimming lengths I can only do the breast stroke

Never learned the front crawl when you can raise your face out of the water ,take a breath and face back under water

I look like someone is trying to kill a fuckin octopus with my arms all over the place

The same as yourself learn to drive, I never needed it before and was to busy going out when I was young, now I do for work. I thought it would be no hassle but age realy is a factor not as easy as I thought.

You don't have to walk or climb. There's a train from Cusco and a bus will bring you up the mountain

Funnily enough it was on this day in 2005 that I arrived in Peru

Never too late for that...it needs a bigger effort when your life gets in the way and you're not typical student age anymore but go for it if you can

I have tried a few things in my life at least once.

My dream is my own motorbike and be free

Unfortunately, my hubby doesn't agree to share his motorbike with me, so I will have to wait until my birthday to get my own machine on two wheels

Took up hillwalking when I was 47 and have done the highest peaks in the UK and Ireland numerous times.

Recently started kayaking and kneeboarding.

Or move to Mongolia where the neighbours could appreciate your singing

You still can! It's well worth it. There's no feeling like diving off a pier into cold sea water. And you'll be so proud of yourself for learning.

My list is so long. As a kid and teen I always let my weight hold me back. I was so shy and withdrawn. But I've been making up for it the last few years. Started swimming in the sea everyday this year. Went kayaking for the first time a few weeks ago. Just trying to stay the fuck away from my comfort zone these days and challenge myself as much as I can.

Definetly learn how to drive. Hop in the car, put on some music and just drive. Being able to drive is liberating.
