Hi all, I’m from Jamaica and love reggae music as it’s part of my culture. Actually I’m a reggae DJ, I play every Monday live on Facebook. If you’re interested in watching private message me and i’ll send you the link to my Facebook page. I’m just trying to share my favourite reggae songs to north and Southern Ireland. Does anyone else like reggae music? If yes what is your favourite reggae track and why? Respect to everyone. Yeah man ??????

Have to admit I'm not a big fan.

My musical tastes have always been very narrow so I've tried to expand on that in recent years.

I went to see UB40 in Belfast last year but I wasn't blown away to be honest.

I don't dislike reggae because there are some great tunes but it wouldn't be something I've any real interest in.

I'm sure there are plenty who love it though based on the crowd reaction at the concert.

Kinky Reggae;) or anything by Bob. Not sure if you’d consider the Specials as purist Reggae but love them also.

That wasn’t UB40. UB40 are gone.

The UB40 who played the Whitla Hall in 82 were outstanding. British reggae at that time was world beating, Steel Pulse, Black auguries, Ken Boothe..... not to mention the Ruts and the Clash....

Love a splash of reggae, ska, dancehall...

...Denis Brown, Junior Murvin, Burning Spear, Alton Ellis, Desmond Dekker, Bob M, Max Romeo (providing my ringtone), John Holt, The Pioneers, Althea and Donna, Peter Tosh, The Melodians, Rita Marley, Sister Nancy, The Specials, The Pioneers, Dawn Penn...all on my daily phone playlist.

And then there's Bunny O'Reilly Livingston. A lil Jamaican / Irish crossover right there.

After Metal, Reggae is my favourite music. I'm more into Roots, Dub, Dance Hall andpretty much anything from the Black Ark.

I was banging Sizzla's Black Woman and Child album in the earphones while out on my walk earlier.

I couldn't even begin to make a list of my favourite Reggae acts but a few off the top of my head are:

The Congos

Scientist

Max Romeo

Prince Far I

King Tubby

Mikey Dread

Dr. Alimantado

Sizzla

Augustus Pablo

I always said if I ever got married the only thing I'd put my foot down on would be the song for the first dance. Keith Rowe - 'Groovy Situation'
