Just curious to see others views on this, do you think there is a direct correlation between the swinging scene and kink/bdsm scenes? Would you consider yourself a kinky individual or can the two areas be completely separated?

For us we enjoy the mix but Dee likes to separate the two more than me. For her she's bdsm first as for her it's a lifestyle not something for just meets. I just enjoy getting down and dirty

I wonder would there be many here that would Introduce it straight away? Or would already being part of the swinging scene be an indicator that a person is “kinky” ? Especially to people on the outside looking in?

We don't have any interest in BDSM. In fact we have been on the swing scene for a good few years now and we've never incorperated the BDSM scene into our fun.

Likewise. Never had an interest in BDSM scene. But we can see how it makes sense for others to mix the two.

Strange one for us. Before we got into this lifestyle in anyway we had a female friend who spent her summers in LA working as a fetish model. I was way more interested in the visual/photography aspect of it than taking part. We both love fetish outfits but having dabbled a little in the sexual aspect we quickly learned that neither of us get a kick out of it. So it did trigger our journey here but will never really be a part of our play.

Swing and BDSM scene are definitely 2 different things but, of course, the can co-exist.

There are places and events where kinks can be exploited but normally rules are very different from the swinging clubs and events.. there are clubs where there are BDSM/kinky rooms or areas but not every kinks will be allowed...

As usual is always about respect for everyone...

We started with kink and then came to swinging. Kink for us tends to be more relationship based, due to the kinks we enjoy, and while we're not against the two mixing it is rarely something that happens inside swinging.

Maybe this best describes my take on it, started off with an interest here and then went down the kinkier route, the link/bdsm scene is obviously a little more hidden than this though?? Especially in Ireland?
