Would you tell the person if you know them

How many people would tell a person if it turned out you actually knew them from your personal life after chatting to them? I know personally I would if I knew them, no shame in my eyes there here just like I am so I wouldn't see the problem. But I get the feeling there's alot of people on here that wouldn't. What's everyone's preference on this?

I would first make it clear that I have no intention of telling anyone else that they are on here and then tell them that I know them. I dont believe in having an unfair advantage over someone.

No, they have as much right to their anonymity and privacy as anyone else does.

No I wouldn't tell them as Lolly says I keep my private life and fab life seperate.

Plus there's nothing more creepy than getting those oh I know who are messages and them not telling you who they are. 95 per cent of the time they are bull anyhow and just someone acting the goat.

But if I genuinely knew someone I'd just block and move on without saying.

Telling them you know them... exposes them, exposes you, renders the block button unusable. Respect their privacy.

I once met a lady, a generation older, great looker. We had great fun. The week after I realised we were neighbours. It's fine now but it was awkward for a long while. We didnt go for seconds because I was/am the same age as her kids and I think we were both seeming anon guilty pleasure. Outing is awkward

There's a couple of options in that really

If you were organising a meet and realised that you knew the person in real life....I'd let them know

If I meet people off fab in real life and we all know we're on here and have been introduced....chat or nod hello if chatting is appropriate at that time

If I see someone somewhere that I know is on fab but not ever introduced say nothing

Ive had this. I had a social with someone who it turns out has a connection to my family. We didn't realise beforehand. We just had a laugh about it together. Nothing was said afterwards and we respected each others right to continue our lives as normal.

No I wouldn't say anything either. No need to be freaking anyone out with that sort of thing. If just stop chatting with that person and get in with it

Ya it's happened to me when I was part of a couple with my ex on this another couple that contacted us turned out we had been good friends with them it's the only time I know it's happened, but I still believe personal life and fab should be kept separate but I have to say it was nice to be able to talk to friends about it all the same, but ya I reckon a few women on this turned out knew me and just blocked me straight away or didn't reply, so I think that's why I'd be honest and let them know who I was and be very clear I'd never open my mouth about them that should go without been said in fairness

Ya I feel the very same way, I think it's happened more then a few times on me and it's very unsettling to think it know someone knows and won't say, I'd tell them give them a piece of mind atleast

I've come across plenty of people that I know here. It's usually not a problem. It's the guys that message saying they know who you are but saying nothing else that are the creeps. We're all supposed to be adults and capable of respecting each others boundaries.

It totally depends on the person. If it was someone that I know them well, and knew that we could chat and joke about it, then I'd say hello.

Otherwise I wouldnt be bothered.

No, I would just cut the conversation if I suspected I might know the person.

Would be more so if she still worked there but it's extremely creepy when they go out of their way to mention names and places of work. And then still expect to meet after

Haha no way did they want to try meet after, what's wrong with some people honestly lol, maybe you should have organised a meet so you could know who it was and tell them where to go in person, but even still that would daunting

It really depends. I think in 99 cases out of 100, I'd say no. But if it was someone who I had a bit of chemistry with in real life but neither of us had ever acted on it and if our profiles here appeared to be a good match, I might be tempted.

Of course, I'd probably chicken out...

I was chatting to one lady off of here and we where planning a meet we exchanged pictures, everything was going well, the week before the meet I was at a club dinner and there she was with her husband, we just smiled said hello, then had a chat on line the next day, I could not meet her myself as I know her husband, we still chat on line. But that's as far as it will ever go between us.
