I wouldn't mind but I work over 60 hours a week I've earned a lie-in for one morning.

I've 5 kids and I haven't had a lie in in well over a year, I actually can't even remember the last time... and I work full time too.

You should say it before lack of sleep causes you to get sick or hurt yourself. Any time I go a few days in a row without decent sleep I seem to start dropping things or hop my head off things from being like a zombie. Or drop your child to your mams or siblings for a few hours to sleep. Plus don't be a fool for your partner if you feel you've done more than enough for the family this week.

A lack of sleep is part and parcel of having small kids/babies unfortunately. It's right that both the mother and the father both share the pain.

It reminds me of the scene in Shrekbwhen the jump on the bed and instead of sex they both fall asleep.

I remember those days of early sat and sun mornings when one of you would get a chance to stay in bed and the other would get a chance to watch TellyTubbies

I know I'm so lucky to have a loving partner that gives everything to me and the kids. She's still up multiple times in the night feeding, and has gone through cracked and torn nipples and blocked milk ducts, not to mention all the usual pregnancy and birth difficulties. The absolute least I can do it get up early and watch TV with them. It's not so much at the end of the day.

Exactly this....I actually stopped drinking for a few years when the kids were young.

We'd go out on a saturday night, baby sitter with the kids...a few pints but the next morning at 6.30 or 7 sitting on the couch with 2 rugrats you'd feel crap.

If it's any consolation we all went through it and it does end.

That's exactly what happened after my first... She suffered badly from colic and my mother took her for one night. My ex and myself went home and fell asleep on the bed at 7:30..woke the next morning at 11...to this day its the best night's sleep I've ever had.

Yes but you get a break when you go to work.... You get coffee breaks, lunch breaks more than likely adult conversation and if you've any bit of a commute you get a bit of head space.

Parents at home with kids don't get this they are always looking for something. Is it really to much to let the mum have a lie in. If your that tired go for nap in the afternoon.

I've done the night feeds but hubby always helped at the weekend he'd settle them back and let me have a lie in.

Even now if they wake in the middle of the night 99 % I'd sleep through he hears then and sorts out, puts them back to bed.

My husband and I like most parents have been sleep deprived for years. They are your children. They need looking after. They depend on you. I find it very sad that you are on here complaining about your other half. Maybe she is just exhausted, maybe she is taking the piss, maybe you should just talk to her
