Sidney university etc

I've noticed on numerous profiles that there is a concern about institutions, perhaps especially Sidney university.

I'm no academic but I'm stumped as to why supposedly clever people, in a time of climate emergency and a global pandemic concern themselves with the private lives of people on the other side of the world? Fab points for the silliest answer.

I'll offer as a starter that they were once humans with healthy libidos but were changed into armchairs with Australian accents by 'evil Edna' and they miss the sexiness.

Thing is. I researched Sydney University trying figure out where this whole Sydney University stealing pics thing came from.

And I found that in order to attend Sydney University, students must complete an online "Consent Matters" module. You can look it up! Literally, they are the only place I've ever heard, that everyone must pass a mandatory consent course to attend.

They are the last place I would imagine would fund research involving stealing naked images of strangers without their consent. Further highlighting the fact that the whole Sydney University blurb is bollix.

That's interesting! I didn't know that about Sydney university, nor seemingly did I know how to spell Sydney.

How did it start that people in Australia might be interested in copying photos of people in Ireland I wonder?

Strange what becomes normal!

South Dublin

The funny thing is when you see that sort of post on FB, people posting that no organisation or anyone else has permission to use the photos posted in any way etc... the thing is they are allowed, you did give FB permission to do it. They have the legal right to use it lol.

I think new people come on see others have it so just toss it up on the profile . I think it’s the same way all the cock pics started too

Waterford

Why is it Sydney University specifically?

Why not any other institution?

I'd imagine your privacy is far more valuable to other organizations than a university is NSW.

I always wondered that when I see the status on a profile.

I would suggest anyone with any worries about misuse of their personal information including profile content, photos, videos etc to actually read the terms and conditions of the use of this site! Including the cookie and privacy policy! If everybody were to actually read that, they would be clearly informed of the rights they have and the rights the company which is providing this service has... it is my understanding in reading the terms and conditions that nobody here has the right to use or pass on anybody's information or photos to a third party unless explicit permission is given, which is also not automatically given to the company when you sign up!!! Bar to use the services of the site, and by the site to provide the service and make your profile public with the content you wish to share in accordance with your respective privacy settings. Please bear in mind the intellectual property rights, point 19...!!!

But then, I do understand there is a large number of people using this service, who care not to read too much

And having read the terms and conditions in detail, I do not see any reference to Sydney University, nor could I find any information as to where the connection between Sydney University, Fab and use of content of profiles comes from...it baffles me and I certainly would be interested to find out where and why there is such a connection and how anybody thinks that warning will prevent misuse of information.

Also, this is a site run by swingers, who more than likely have profiles here too. I'm sure that it is in their interest too, to have their privacy respected the way any of us want our privacy respected.

You're very thoughtful. I'm a dim wit by comparison!! Great point about the vested interest of site being run by swingers. I guess also, we all need to prioritise for ourselves - to not live life to the full for fear of something unintended happening or to enjoy this amazing gift of being alive to the full even if the internet isnt as secure as would be desirable. My choice anyway is we have one life, let's live it to the full x

You and I both know, darling, that you're far from a dim wit...

And most unfortunately I would take a guess that a lot of people live in fear most days now, especially nowadays!!!

And I vote, yes! Let's live life to the full, we only have the one!

I'm sorry though I didn't add anything more humorous to the thread as your post initiated lol...but I'd so hate to cause offense

near Glasgow

There was a classics professor who carried out research years ago for a book, he was comparing modern sex lives and myths based on the Roman orgies myths.

Nothing to worry about, but people are sheep and still keep putting the notice on profiles.

Google, classic orgies + blanchard, you should get more info

****LEGAL NOTICE****

Fabswingers has my permission to do whatever the fuck they want with the photos, videos etc that I put on it. I wonder whether the animals in wildlife programmes have an equivalent 'blame focus' for unpermitted use of their images? Like, do orangutans think ' David Attenborough does not have my permission to use my image'. I'll stop now before silliness takes hold!

Said barn doesn't have a door so the locking up would be tricky but the sentiment is understandable

I'm sure your conversation and discussion with the orangutans will be so scintillating that doors and locks won't be needed...
