I go regular walking in down, I meet more people this way than via this site, no plans it can be Scrabo Forrest park, lead mines Bangor or even over the graigantlet hills, I've even got lucky

If you can get passed all the issues previous fab walking groups have experienced then certainly go for it.

Fabbers who can't drive joining groups based in a different part of the country and then wondering why walks aren't organised closer to them.

Disagreements over when and where.

Finding walks that suit all levels of fitness as some are too strenuous for individuals and some not worth the journey time if chosen to suit those who aren't able to walk very far or high.

Those who join, both male and female who after a short while ask the inevitable questions. " Hold on a sec. Wtf do you mean we actually have to walk? You mean it really is a walking group???"

A proper walking group would be great but hard to get it to suit everyone.

And as predicted earlier the "walking" group is suddenly a camping group. Only a matter of time before someone asks if you have to walk to be a member.

I'm too reserved to go on a trip like this but I would be interested in knowing what are peoples favourite places to hike in Ireland because I do a bit of it myself but I'm totally ignorant of geography. I see what looks like a path to a high hill or a mountain and I walk it. I just love the fresh air and exercise.

Love hiking, so I’d be up for one. The spink loop In glendalough would be a good opener. Or down to the beach at lough dan. I’ve down most of the routes in Wicklow, so if anyone needs any route advice let me know.
