RTE TV is total shite 90% of the time. Its not going to get much better unfortunately as most of the money is going on streaming services these these days.

Film and TV production has been all but shutdown since March across the planet. Too many moving parts to track, a typical, 180 odd staff for a show where everyone talks to everyone else.

I can't explain the choice in poor programming in general. Perhaps advertisers like shows that nobody appears to want to watch and/or make.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the worldwide health pandemic and the subsequent "LOCKDOWN" thats been going on for 4 months?

Give your head a rattle if you seriously expect talk shows and crap sitcoms to be still in production during all of this!

Not just that, revenues due to reduced advertising are through the floor. Lot of belt tightening going on and there just isn’t the same budgets out there for stuff at the mo.

Haven't watched RTE or Sky in years.

Their streaming is horrific as well.

I tend to use Netflix and Amazon Prime these days.

Even without the pandemic the summer is generally shite for TV. All the investment goes into the Autumn and Winter schedules.
