Frenchic is brilliant. After years of being an Annie Sloan devotee I'm completely converted.

Painting is one of the most boring and painful activities you can do BUT the results make it worthwhile and your rewards last a long time.

Anyway it's all in the prep and caulk is your best friend especially in an old house.

Keep up the good work!

Have a look at the stockists list on the website. Off the top of my head there's stockists in Ballynahinch and just outside Banbridge. There are others but can't remember at the moment. Some of the local stockists will post (or at least they did during lockdown)

My house is full of upcycled stuff and I have a shed full of stuff waiting for a new lease of life

I'm currently trying to redecorate the kitchen but having a huff with it because when I was painting the ceiling half the plaster fell off.

My brother got 2 old banged up travel trunks, like the ones used on oven liners of the past. Painted them up and got some smart legs for them. Really turned out well

Did the same after building ours back in 2009, the house is brighter, all furnishing matches, and best of all... only one pot of paint to store after.

Don’t mind painting - actually don’t mind it.

Part of my job

Best tip to give is get good paint - and stay away from likes of Woodies / Homebase own brand. And a cutting in paint brush. If your painting a lot of rooms it worth buying a proper roller that’s supported at both sides of the roller

You ll never see a painter going into there and buying paint.

Need any advice Gis us a shout

To borrow a phrase from Cartman out of South Park: Decorating sucks ass!

Don’t do it. Even if you’ve started, don’t finish it. Think about it another way: the economy is in trouble and some decorator somewhere could do with the work, so help get the economy going again by getting him to do it.

You’ll feel so much better and then you can do something enjoyable instead
