The ultimate face shot...

Does anyone remember the episode of Friends where Monica and Chandler got engaged and Monicas parents wanted to put a picture of them in the local paper? But Chandler was camera allergic and couldn't force a smile for a picture so after many hilarious attempts at a smile which ranged from shambolic to demonic, they subbed in Joey.

I can empathise. I just can't smile in a pic, so any face photo I have looks like I'm either clinically depressed or a potential psycho killer. When I know a camera is on me and I try for the smile it ends up looking like a cross between a grimace and a situation where a Jack Russell has unexpectedly jumped up between my legs and plunged its teeth into my left testicle at the moment someone had a camera pointed at me.

Needless to say when it comes to exchanging the dreaded face pic with a potential match it causes some temporary anxiety.

Anyone else face this or a similar problem? And would it have happened at all if the Jack Russell had just been kept on a leash?

We don't exchange face pics, if people aren't happy with that, we won't be meeting.

I think we’re all like that OP or maybe I’m just as weird as you

My face is much better with a natural laugh than a forced smile (grimace)

I've got a head like a constipated tomato so regardless of how the pic is taken it always looks like my head has been superimposed onto someone else's body as body and head are different colours.

I’ve always hated having my photo taken and usually shy away when someone turns a camera on me. I’ve deleted Aloy more fave pics than the ones I’ve uploaded.

You could always follow that example OP and start sending Joeys face in future.

Couldn't take a good photo of my face to save my life.

It doesn't help that I have a face that only my mother could love but I once had a professional photographer take my picture for a trade magazine and exhibition and thats on my phone

It's the first professional photograph I've had since my black and white school communion photo.

In fairness a few teeth are missing in that one so this one is definitely better.

Hate my face pics. My smile looks soooo fake.

I tend not to smile so. And then some dumb shit tells me to "smile!". Grrrrrr......

So it’s not just me then

Kaiser: you should start pimping yourself out to teach people the subtle art of camera majiggery.

Actually: We should wear a mask, take the pic and blame it all on covid

I have yet to figure out how muster any semblance of normality in photos. I dread having my photo taken. As for selfies, don’t even ask

Supposedly, the trick is to wait until the very last second before the click to form a smile and look at the camera.

When you are in the process of forming a smile, it looks way more natural then smiling, and then trying to freeze your face like that for the pic

Ok then try the 'dream' filter in photoshop express, it fluffs and soften up everything to an angel like look. All wrinkles gone in a split second and even your grimace will turn into a sweet sugary smile.

Ahhh no, I couldn't use that filter, I wouldn't get away with an angel like face.

Put some wipped cream on your balls and hopefully the Russell will lick you instead.

Reckon most of us are the same...

I simply try to imagine something funny in the past while talking a picture...

Probably works well for 2 out of 5 snaps taken...

Hope this helps...
