Bit of a controversial one here but I always preferred Slayer's covers of the hardcore punk songs they did on their cover album 'Undisputed Attitude', than the originals.

Some old skool punk heads will say it's blasphemy

My fav cover has to be Imagine - Celebrities in Quaranteen.

Followed closely by Jedward's Under Pressure / Ice Ice Baby.

Poor guys, last week Simon Cowell removed the official music video and song from all his media platforms without giving any reason. I feel bad for them.

But youtube George Michael

Another week, another cover song discussion....

"Johnny Cash - Hurt"

I didn't realise until less than a month ago that that(hate when that *ahem* happens) was even a cover! It came up in my youtube recommendations about a short doc into how Cash covered that along with other songs around that time. Good little video, check it out.

That would have been absolutely amazing if that happened and I believe what they made on that cover it was given to her children fair play to them

Police and Thieves by the Clash.

As much as I love Junior Murvin's version, The Clash really made it their own.

Fun fact: Junior Murvin hated The Clash's cover of his song.

NEWTOWNABBEY

Considering I'm an oldie I believe covers should be different from the original or at least a bit different. If you can't recognise the song covered, from the original music it's better.

Blinded by the light by manfred manns earthband, is unrecognisable from Springsteen original.

On the other hand Metallicas version of thin lizzy, whiskey in the jar, is recognisable but heavier and better.
