What's everyone's view on the mask debate, yes or no? Nothing like a good old mask debate in my opinion and personally I'm all for them.....but not sure if its suitable when others around unless they are on the yes side of the mask debate too

They help stop the person wearing the mask from spreading it as easily. So yes I agree with wearing them if you are somewhere where you're in close proximity to a good few people Especially if you arw in busy shops public transport etc.

I'm beginning to really hate them as I do have to wear them in work all shift and have been for months at this stage. But they are a necessity there and because they do help stop the spread of covid along with all the other measures then ye I'm for wearing masks.

Your 100% right we should wear masks, but mask debate will help get it out there, maybe read the thread title out loud and discuss with your friends to raise awareness too

Yep absolutely wear them no they are not the answer to get rid of this virus that requires an actual vaccine but it certainly helps prevent the spread and for those who have breathing difficulties I'm pretty sure there are more breathable ones in fairness without them this country would be doing alot worse

Good god is this still going on??

There was never ever any doubt on the effectiveness of masks from any reputable sane person in the scientific or medical field. Ever!

Putting a barrier over your nose & mouth reduces the passing of particles, therefore reduced the risk of you catching or spreading infection. Simple as that.

The only debate, is how are governments going to protect people from their own stupidity. Prevent morons from hoarding and depleting the entire worlds mask supply like they tried with bread and toilet roll, keeping them from the people who need them the most.

How will they make sure infected idiots dont wear the same mask day in day out, touching it and everything else thinking they are safe cuz they are wearing a mask.

How will they make sure they dont announce masks too early and the entire population taking an initial stance that "there is no point to masks as the cases are so low" and then being too stubborn to change their mind once cases start to rise.

Bloody Dunning-Kruger imbeciles who think their "research", searching for YouTube videos on facebook from morons with the same opinion as them, somehow holds the same weight as 100 years of medical practice, and 100s of Billions of dollars research worldwide.

It's not a difficult concept. Covering your mouth blocks particles, and let's oxygen through. There is no more to it.

The whole mask debate is gone mad over in The States. However, 5 months into a pandemic, I couldnt imagine there are many people still on the fence. You have either done your research at this stage, or never going to.

I dont think anti maskers are going to change their mind at this stage, unless they are personally affected.

Drivers actually used to turn their lights off in the 70's when approaching junctions to see if they could see the lights of another car coming and if not keep going...my thought was what if 2 cars approaching a junction did that it wouldnt end well

Anyway, this whole thread while it is a serious topic was meant to be a bit of humour but I guess nobody got it, looks like covit killed all the fun not just the sexy fun

Apologies. My annoyance isn't and wasn't directed at you for opening this topic but about the debate even existing in any sense in the world.

In terms of the topic name I still don't get it, but if you've had to say a few times that it was a joke and go as far to explaining how to get the joke.....it probably wasn't that good of a joke in the first place, sorry

Honestly if it will help I will do it. We need to cop on and think of the more vurable people in our country watching the young man who has had all his services stopped this evening on the news some of us just don't have a clue of the impact this has had on vulnerable people in our country. And yes I drive around in my car from shop to shop wearing it rather than touch it putting it on and off.

It definitely use to happen I remember a taxi driver who use to often drop us home us to do it when I first started going out. And yep we lived in the country.

Actually watched a thing today, watched it live at the time and its quite incredulous. But also in some ways hilarious. They are taking about "mask debating" at work and in pet shops, stores, should people be allowed to mask debate infront of children. And one woman refusing to wear a mask said " I won't wear a mask for the same reason I don't wear underwear, things need to breathe" . Thought it was comical she wore trousers and a top while saying this. But there you go. Masks and underwear are bad according to one lady.

I wear mine, doesn't bother me in the slightest.
