Best movie soundtrack?

Hello everyone.

Having a discussion on twitter about the best movie soundtrack ever. It’s proving very decisive

My favourite movie soundtrack is from The Mission. Ennio Morricone is a genius and sadly he recently passed away. I love the soundtrack from Pulp Fiction as well.

Would love to hear everyone’s fav’s to see if they are any different from twitter.

Some classics there. Loved Cockeye’s Song from Once Upon a Time in America. Some amazing tunes in Trainspotting as well.

The problem with movie soundtracks is that a couple of tracks are amazing such as on The mission ....The falls,on earth as in Heaven and Gabriel's oboe but some of the others are very forgettable.

I listen to a hell of a lot of movie sound track composer's such as Hanz Zimmer,John Williams,Ennio Morricone but its usually a greatest hits type of playlist I have

Single movie soundtracks that I listen to a lot are

Les Miserable and Saturday night fever (showing my age )

The little baby was probably conceived as mum and dad watched the movie. It was quite sexy, for its time

Baby Driver - excellent but the overlay of music to the scenes in the movie. Best.

Obviously influenced by Goodfellas (Scorsese) and Tarantino... who are also amazing with music to amplify scene. Among many many others.... Kubrick, John Hughes, to name a few others.

But composers of the music are in another league ... Zimmerman and Morricone ...Lloyd Weber...

But a good thread. Thx OP.

Here and there

My absolute favourite childhood movie is the The Last Unicorn, which goes hand in hand with America's title track...

But there are lots of top notch themes mentioned here...

Could add the likes of Schindler's list, Avatar, Pirates of the Carribbean, The Godfather...

Love Morricone and James Horner...

Best soundtrack might be Kill Bill. Tarantino always throws together great music.

Original score: my favourite might be If Beale Street Could Talk atm. Morricone's Once Upon a Time in America was amazing too.
