Who was your favourite preformance on the hot summers day in 1985 and what was your favourite memory of the day

I was working most of that day servicing equipment in pubs and hotels and watched and listened in about 10 different premises that day. When it kicked off with Status Quo I was the only one in that bar but as the day went on each place became more and more crowded. Didn't see much of Queen but have done since but I thought Bowie was amazing.

Was at live aid, for me it had to be Queen. They were thought of as being past their best at the time. But fair play to Freddie and tge lads. They had the whole stadium rockin.

Extreme - particularly the Queen medley they did. Showcased Gary Cherone's vocals perfectly. He would have been a great stand-in singer for Queen, and has the natural frontman charisma with the crowd too

Could be wrong but don't think they were at Band Aid in 85. The medley they did was at Freddie Mercurys memorial concert.

Queen was obviously the best performance followed by U2. Best memory was either geldof swearing or Phil Collins performing at Wembley hopping on concord and playing in Philadelphia.

We were down in our little caravan in kilmuckridge, I was only a kid. But was in awe at Freddie and Queen... Probably kick started my love for music

Outside the live acts, I remember being in Dublin airport flying out to Dusseldorf. The Cars song Drive came on the televisions around the place accompanied by that harrowing video of the starving in Ethiopia...never before saw a large entity like an airport come to a halt....or see big burly guys reduced to tears but that to me was the stand out moment of the day...that and Saint Bob telling people to stay at home and give him their 'fucking money'

In a large pub in Dublin and the exact same thing happened especially the line ...."when you scream" and the baby screamed.
