Ireland

When people were stopped traveling abroad and people not allowed to travel here, COVID19 started to decrease, I think that should be a lesson for us all. No doubt there will be idiots who will ignore bans, the best thing for them is to give them a one-way ticket and say cheerio.

Well one person travelled back to Ireland, has now spread corona to 14 members of their family/household in Sligo. And hasn't been self isolating.

I'd love a holiday in the sun but have totally accepted it won't be this year.

somewhere

I feel sorry for the people interviewed on the radio today

Paid 2500 for their family holiday

Without the government stopping the flights they had to go....insurance wouldn't cover a no show for the flights or hotel

They'll practice social distance and cleaning of hands while away

What else could you do in fairness

Heard them. The government covering themselves by not stopping travel so they don't have to bail out the companies and it's the people that bear the cost.

Try Sligo as of this week after a coming back, they infected more

(Fact)

When The Italians and horse goers from Cheltingham came , their was an increase.

If you require more statistics , the HSE will gladly profide you with them.

Galway

If booking, last minute would be best, self catering accommodation and stock up on food when you arrive, risk of getting caught in lock down wherever you go and two week isolation when you return. As long as you know the risks and are willing to accept the potential consequences, best of luck and enjoy. (genuinely not being sarcastic)

Personally I won't be travelling for a good while. I've cared for more dying patients in these past months than in my entire career as a nurse. And I feel people travelling abroad is just going to bring a rise in the cases here.
