I might add that a while ago I watched all the series of Star Trek and the original hasn’t aged well, it’s pretty sexist at times

Anyone else know the story of how Star Trek: Voyager being shite gave us Barack Obama?

It funnily enough also has connections to our lifestyle!

Star Trek: Voyager was not as well received as previous Star Trek series and in 1997, the producers decided to add a sexy new character in an attempt to boost ratings. Actress Jeri Ryan was brought in to play Seven of Nine. She quickly became one of the most popular characters, for obvious reasons.

Jeri's frequent separations from her husband, Jack Ryan, due to her acting schedule contributed to their decision to divorce in 1999.

In 2004, Jack Ryan then became the Republican nominee for an open Senate seat in Illinois. During the campaign, the proceedings from Ryan's divorce became public, and contained details of his sex life that did not make him look good (for a staunch Republican conservative anyways).

Basically Jack Ryan was constantly pressuring Jeri to try out sex clubs in Paris and Rome, encouraging her toward what I essentially read as a "Hotwife" lifestyle. Disappointingly, Jeri wasn't interested and only attended a few clubs to placate her husband.

This all became public knowledge when the divorce proceedings records were unearthed when Jack was pushing his senate election campaign. The scandal forced Ryan to drop out of the Senate race in July, leaving the Republican

Party time to only find token opposition to the Democratic nominee, one Barack Obama.

Obama's landslide victory in the Senate race helped launch him onto the national stage, allowing him to pull off an upset victory in the 2008 Democratic primary and win the presidential election.

So Voyager being crap got Obama elected!

True story.

I have to admit that I love both, but I think Star Trek wins

Original Star wars trilogy I believe is still the best of star wars

Star trek TNG DS9 and Picard are my favourite series,

Favourite sexist female characters in trek would be

Seven of nine

Dr Crusher (First MILF I had a crush on)

Judsea Dax

Councillor Troy (TNG but looks good in Picard also)

Ensign Tully (I got a thing for red heads)

They are two completely different concepts. The similarities are the first 4 letters and that they are Sci Fi.

Star Wars is more action, whereas Star Trek invokes more thought and emotion!

You are getting deeper with age
