Masks

Just wondering if anyone actually wears a mask going out in public.

I could probably do with one so I dont frighten people anyway in fairness.

I have a hundred of them in the car but still prefer not to wear one.

Now I dont use public transport or shop in packed shops but if I go to get a haircut I will wear one.

Any thoughts

I do and you get funny looks when you wear one, which is all wrong. There's more and more evidence that masks help together with social distancing and hygiene to keep the spread at bay. With opening up more and more I think it should be mandatory in public where people mingle. I think it's a small sacrifice we should make to protect the vulnerable and to prevent a second wave.

I wear them when shopping, in small spaces and did when cycling there because it was in town and when you exercise you can spew droplets up to 8-10meters.

I've never once gotten funny looks from anyone, I dont think anyone could care less if a random stranger is wearing a mask.

I'd prefer not to wear them as I have to wear them in work now, and they are warm and uncomfortable, but I have been anyway every time I go into public since April as it's less uncomfortable than death.

Just keep them in ziplock bags. When you do your weekly shopping, put it on and sanitize your hands on entry, then put it back in the ziplock when you get back to the car.

I've gotten so used to wearing one, that last I walked to lidl and when I realised I forgot it, I was actually super uncomfortable walking around the shop naked without one. I felt everyone was judging me for NOT wearing one.

I loves a good conspiracy and apparently people show less empathy when they can't see a face.

The encouragement of wearing masks is a secret plot to dehumanize us so we will have less empathy towards each other.

Tellin' ya it's true

Forcing people to wear masks is a dangerous road to take and it wouldn't end well.

This virus is here to stay now so eventually we're gonna have to just get on with it.

In close quarters yes i wear them but outside in fresh air I tend to remove it I could meet up to ten or fifteen people a day so in my head I am protecting them from me passing it from one house to another

I'd say if there's a second wave, masks will be mandatory in areas where social distancing is difficult to maintain.

I think there were more people wearing masks 6 weeks ago than there is now.

Its fucking even more dangerous to not wear them. You contradict yourself: "it's a dangerous round.... the virus is here to stay"

Then wear a mask when you go out in public. Lessen the risk for you and the people around you.

I have been using bus and trains a lot recently and not many bother wearing them. I do and as above think we all should when travelling.

When I said it would be a dangerous road to take I meant people won't stand for being forced to wear a mask.

And when I said the virus is here to stay I mean we have to just get on with it eventually because we can't do lockdown every time it's Covid season.

I get where you're coming from but I can't see people sticking to the restrictions in the long term. Eventually the majority will just day "Fuck it"

Its not that they will be forced,it will soon become mandatory to wear one if you wish to travel on the public transport network.Everyone will have choice and if you choose not wear then you simply find another method of getting from A to B.It's more than likely going to become a thing if you wish to enter a clothes shop or shopping centre.Again everyone will have that option.Up to them which option they choose.

There will be exemptions of course. Beside helping to reduce the spread, wearing facemasks is to protect the vulnerable, means also those that cannot wear them for health reasons.

i can't wear one due to anxiety issues but if you can wear one i would say do it. a lot of people refuse as they see it as annoying but it's not like you are forced to wear them all day. wish i could wear one but i nearly have panic attacks in them
