Hotel protocol

Does anyone know what the hotel protocol will be when they are taking guests? My FB and I usually use a hotel and 1 checks in, other arrives later through the carpark and into the lift to rooms. Do you think access will be difficult?

Why cant you both check in together if you have paid for a double room for 2 people then I dont see what the issue is ?

Its not a big deal unless you plan to stay over night

If you are looking to have 3 in the room late evening or overnight then tell the hotel and get a triple room. Most hotels do a double plus a single in a room for not much more money. That way you can have someone else up to your room at night and noone will say a word. Either all check in together, or ask for 3 keys, take the spare key to the bar as a couple and give it to him/her. That way if anyone asks then all 3 of you are legit residents.

Sound sensible wise advice from East Cork even if the lift is within eyesight of the receptionist

Dunno if it could be related but I was in a local tourist town today.

And that it attracts tourists fair enough even people from all of Ireland.

However I was driving past an they have like a bistro\cafe deck looking out onto the street the place looked full and most of the people had pints in their hand.

I Don't think that hotel gave a fuck about who was in the rooms judging by looking at their open decks today.

I would imagine that the new C19 advice for hotels will make everything more difficult.. only residents will be allowed into hotels, so the advice for a triple room may be the way to go if you are having a friend to join...hotels also likely to be looking for contact i formation should there be a C19 issue & people need to be contacted

Hotels will be eager for business, there’ll be no hotel police, bar a Q at check-in and hand sanitsers you won’t notice much difference. Some are already in the media talking about contactless check-in so you don’t need to even go to reception to check-in - would be even more swinger friendly

Hotels have been given guidelines to enforce. Only one room in a lift at a time, only 1 in a corridor. Breakfast buffets are a thing of the past etc.

I would expect to be challenged initially if you enter. But like any avenue in life, some will be better than others at enforcing it.
