Am out on bike - touring hybrid most days and have done lots in UK and Europe so yes interested - but most cycling groups seem to be for racing cyclists.

The vast majority of cyclists in most clubs now are leisure and sportive cyclists.

There are of course racing groups in most clubs but for most its about getting out with a group of people for a spin and a chat and coffee and cake..

The bigger clubs have people of all levels so don't be afraid to make contact and go and try out a ride.

It's great for your fitness but more importantly you make friends and get to see areas where you live for the first time.

Yes this Covid lockdown is great for getting out for cycling within the 5k zone and be 20 k from 9th

Did your mind not tell your fingers to go into your tight pockets and pay for a bike instead of the bull- hit your posting about negativity

Most cycling clubs in ireland have leisure groups, the club I'm in have 140 members but only 16 of us race the rest are just there to meet up and enjoy the weekly spin with like minded people. Look into cycling Ireland and see what clubs are near you.
