The habit. It was part of the weekly routine. Going there and seeing familiar faces and saying hello or having a chat with instructors gave energy and made it social.

Equipment wise....I miss the boxing heavy bags.

What's with all the weight lifting people do these days? What happened to cardio? Or do you do a combo?

Yup, and I can go nudy in my own sauna, the proper way to do it. You're lucky to have found a gym with great showers, the norm is crap showers basesd on my experience

What I miss most though, is the that the toilets in the gym in work are always empty, so they are the best place if you want to sneak off to have a nice long poo in peace.

Fair play to ya Thor! Sounds like you lost the weight by making healthy lifestyle changes rather than fad crash diets! Way more likely that the you will keep it off for good now.

I miss swimming laps in the pool, and gliding effortlessly past all those muscle bound young fellas who so obviously don't do enough cardio. As I plod past em, I usually do a flutter kick without my heels breaking the surface. The ensuing turbulence usually freaks em out and sends em scurrying towards the slow lane.

Everything, the chats before, the whiteboard explanations ( i always get confused), picking up an Olympic barbell for warming up, heavy lifting before a wod, plating that little bit more then you should, warm up runs and the moaning about whats coming up, getting a pull up with your gym fam cheering you on, fistbumps, coffee and chats after, sweaty hugs, highs of a PR, i miss it all
