Everyone sees them differently... some people say it's the lazy way of saying hello instead of writing an email... I kind of look at it as if I was at a bar... if a guy winked at me I either wink back or look away....

Sometimes to say hi, but mostly if I really liked the profile so I'm showing appreciation.

If I get one back then I presume the feeling was reciprocated and can converse freely.

Well to be honest it doesn't mean much to me as i'd much rather receive a mail from someone who has put a bit of effort into it... A bit of witty banter never goes astray and one can't get their personality through in a wink!

i think that the winks is a polite way of getting poeple to look at ur profile once u wink at them and if they wink back it makes sending them a mail much less worrying as the winking has been the perfect ice breaker though i was trying to work out out of the maybe 50 winks i distribute i get maybe a half wink back sending a hundred usually results in just one wink back im assuming its cos people think im a bit of a winker

Like life, this site is almost impossible to judge. Wink at one person they love it, wink at another they block you, wink at another and they track you down and poke your eye out. I know, i only have one eye left.
