Its hard to go to town in her because right up until her husband died she was in many ways doing a lot of good investigative journalism. She went rapidly down hill and got caught up in so many conspiracy theories, most a 5 year old could do enough research to see they were false but her judgement now seems fatally flawed.

Its sad because she seems to have some mental health issues and right now her batshit views are attractiving a similar cohort. That said I don't know why the Gaurds are letting her break Irish laws during a pandemic.

Bit bizarre that you want us to go to the Liberal.ie to read about it there, considering that poisonous website is notorious for inciting racial hatred and stirring up anti-immigrant sentiment and therefore would have plenty in common with O’Doherty and her rotten mob. And its publisher, who is a right wing nutjob, was done for plagiarism.

The report is hardly anti-O’Doherty as you can see here: ‘In an ironic twist, numerous members of the press, from outlets overtly hostile to the former Irish Independent and her legal action, crowded together outside the court without masks in a flagrant violation of the self-isolation and social distancing rules they so eagerly defend.’

No mention of the fact that O’Doherty, Waters and their gang were indulging in their own flagrant violations!

I would tend to agree with you. I believe she has mental health issues.

If she doesn't, well that's a whole other story.

The real issue here though is she expresses an opinion or opinions that many in this country privately hold, and that's what isso sick in our society. It doesn't look like it will go away anytime soon either, I think it's getting worse.

Ah, I’m not sure you’re entirely right there... you’re allowed in your own garden and you’re allowed in your car. What you’re not allowed to do is drive miles and miles in your car, get out (which they can’t monitor as effectively so instead they monitor where you’re driving to and why) and wipe your grubby hands on stuff which would potentially either (i) leave the virus after you or (ii) pass the virus on to your hands which you would bring with you on your next pitstop. Also the govt have made it very clear that any lifting will be gradual so there isn’t going to be one big party where everyone is kissing, hugging, sneezing and coughing on one another.

Yes having the liberties we’re used to curtailed is a pain but the greater public good overrides personal rights as it should and to that end the govt is charged with ensuring public health and safety. So whether you or Gemma or any other one thinks it’s a “load of balls” is totally irrelevant (thankfully).

I'm not sure where you're getting most of that from.

I haven't personally seen an armed garda at a checkpoint yet but it's irrelevant whether they're armed or not.

You're not being told you have to stay in your house. You're allowed out for exercise within a 2km radius of your home. That has the potential for allowing for every bit as much exercise as most people would normal take. You can do as much walking, running, cycling, jumping as you like once it's no more than 2km from home so your whole theory about being out of the sunlight is nonsense. You can drive to the shops for your shopping even if it's farther than 2km.

Actually I had searched for the video everywhere, including YouTube so unless you watch videos on the newspaper it was the only place to view it.

I'm not sure where you're getting most of that from.

I haven't personally seen an armed garda at a checkpoint yet but it's irrelevant whether they're armed or not.

Yes there are some detectives on the road blocks and they are normally armed anyway so whats the problem.

I don't have a problem with armed gardai on the steets

I don't mean this in any disrespectful way but who's to say that the people that they are searching like that are not the same people that are under suspicion normally.

I've been through on average through 3 checkpoints a day and havent seen even one person out of their car or boots open.

There's a huge amount of drugs been found on the roads so far which is a good thing

She's not a journalist anymore cause she was let go. I like everyone else in the constituency she tried to run in would never vote for her. Shes not a politician.

Please note, she is barred from social media so she puts on public displays so other people will put those videos on social media and share them. Thus she gets more social media attention than if she was allowed on the platforms. All carefully arranged.
