You should also be washing your beard twice a week and using a beard oil or balm also. If you're growing out a beard for a month before trimming, it's annoying as it gets itchy and scraggly.

Belfast

This thread and ops question reminded me of something that happened a few months back. I was chatting to a non verified couple who asked to meet. This was pre lockdown but nevertheless I said I was only interested in meeting for an initial social.

We exchanged face pics and the immediate response was that in order to meet them I had to lose the beard.

That was never going to happen but definitely not for a couple who were asking to meet me and not the other way around.

Haven't spoken to them since but it proved to me that it's not just men with self inflated egos and a sense of entitlement.

And to answer ops question from a male perspective I grew my beard out of pure laziness and no other reason. Once I'd had it a few months it started to grow on me if you'll pardon the pun and it made me less invisible.

I got more positive comments than negative and as stupid as it sounds it has given me much more confidence so it's staying as is and if others don't like it that's not my issue.

Do what feels right op and while a beard isn't permanent like a tattoo your decision to have one or not shouldn't be based on the opinions of others.

Hell

I don't mind facial hair as long as it is trimmed and doesn't obscure the lips. Beards and moustaches make it incredibly difficult to lip read so I tend to avoid men who have bushy beards regardless of their other attributes.
