"i read somewhere that there will be another two weeks after the 12th of april. then they are looking at easing restrictions in some places that havent been as affected. how true that is now i dont know That won't work, people would just flock from areas still under restriction to those that weren't, and risk spreading the disease to areas with low incidence. Any easing of restrictions will be very gradual to see if there is any increase in infections, its very likely there may have to be further softer lockdowns every now and then if the incidence of disease appears to be rising. Until there is an effective vaccine it's difficult to see how else it can be done without risking the vulnerable. Just my opinion " True and it also depends upon other EU countries. Can open up before everyone is out. Else we might spread the infection there or they might bring it here. Sort of a sticky situation.

Anyway Canaries are too hot in the summer anyway so September is actually ideal.

"Think we in for another 5-6 weeks , kids won't be going back to school till Sept. This virus isn't just going to disappear." I’ve seen a lot of people talk about September for the schools to re-open but what is it based on? Denmark are re-opening their primary schools and kindergartens next week. They imposed restrictions before us but we’re not a million miles behind them. Yes it will have to be done in an organised manner and we have to make sure we’re on top of the virus but there’s no reason whatsoever to think our schools will have to stay closed until September.

Many owners are converting their flats for long term rentals from Airbnb. But way too many downsides too. Hopefully we bounce back as a V rather than a U

"at least 2 more weeks before a phased re opening...pubs, theatres, restaurants will be last...cant see primary schools open before Sept ..Secondary will only open for the exam years. I also think there will be a recommendation against non essential foreign travel ... that sun holiday to the Costas will not be deemed essential & if you travel you will have to isolate on your return. So Ireland for the holidays this year. stay & shop local to support irish business & jobs." I've to see me mammy and dad in the summer, that's essential.
