"There isn't a 2 km limit on exercise, you must exercise within 2 km of home, completely different things." Someone told me yesterday that she cycles in a circle no more than 2 km from her house and can do 18km without breaking the rule

"Gyms closed, 2km limit on exercise range. Boredom eating and drinking too much alcohol just to keep sane. Lockdown will be turning us all slowly to jelly. Any ideas on how to break the cycle that don’t involve willpower? " A few prayers involves a higher power than just your will power xx. I am actually sticking to my diet but I do find the mind is trying to trick me into old eating habits. But so far so good, it's all in your mind what you eat, but why your eating is the main thing. Talking about the stuff in your mind everday to someone helps alot. Try keep busy cleaning, cooking, painting or whatever it is you like go do. I know it so hard, everyone is on the same boat. Drinking to much doesn't help either as it makes one feel bad about themselves. Then the poor eating habits come with that bad feeling. Try new things to help your mind meditation perhaps. Anything is worth a try in these very hard times.

"Thanks for that, I often thought of trying meditation...any online suggestions as to where to start with that? Keeping mentally calm and slightly detached from all of this would be helpful." Try Headspace In terms of a break for your mind, you can't beat a gripping book in my opinion.

" I guess you are right though with not buying any crap for the house...that’s where the willpower comes in. My inner Homer Simpson comes out in the supermarket " Write a list and stick to it. Generally the shite food tends to be grouped together in particular aisles, avoid those aisles altogether

Usually i just type in what type of medication i would like into the Google bar. E.G medication for worry and stress. It's sinple i recommend to start off with shorter ones and see how that goes for you. Our on a set of earphones. Oh actually i type in guided meditation as it will be someone telling you word for word when to breath, what to do with your hands, feet etc etc. Enjoy and be sure to give me some feedback on it. What hsve you got to loose.

So cycle away - have been out most days on nice long cycles. Met one squad car - Ban Garda who just tooted and waved.

I was going to just go on my own as per usual route anyway. It was said that exercise on yor own is ok from one of them shows the other day. Also today it was said that only people who have it or from travel must isolate and if not by all means go out but just follow the guidelines.

"OP, skipping, walking or jogging around the estate early morning, stop buying and eating junk food, drinking lots of water, cooking yourself - be creative. There are lots easy recipes for the beginners, and cut off sugar, alcohol and carbs. Make sure to spend minimum 60 mins daily outside, no matter the weather. You will boost your metabolism, and built stronger immune system. Good luck! PS my dad love sweets and was cheating all of us We found a method on him low sugar raw desserts rich in vitamins and minerals. Dad has more energy now, feels much better and preparing to the 10k He is 70+ , had a heart attack last year. If he was able to do this, you can do this as well,OP! " Thanks Smokey, Since Sunday I have kept up the exercise, drank my 3 litres of water a day and the sugar and booze is all on hold, feeling a bit like my old self again. I have spent the last 4 years on a health binge, was 18 st in 2016 and now 13 st 5lbs. I cut out bad carbs and sugar completely for 3 yrs and took to the gym. But for the first time in all that time this Covid thing knocked me off my stride. Glad to report I’m back in the saddle again. Thank you you and everyone else for your encouragement it has helped me get back on track.

"There are lots of gym instructors providing free classes online, most of which only involve body weight (or you can use e.g. tins of food instead of weights). I don't think anyone will be shredded, unless they're lucky enough to have a well-equipped gym of their own, but I think keeping in shape ought to be manageable." Of course it is, nobody needs a gym to stay fit and healthy.
