I've never been on a singles holiday, but I've travelled alone for work, eaten alone in hotels every night. Often when we are on holiday I will do things on my own. Why should it be awkward, the truth is that most people are focused on themselves and don't notice you. Doing things on your own is a great way to get headspace and be in the moment. Go for it, you might be surprised by how much you enjoy it.

I go on holiday by myself and love it. I do not do singles holidays i just book something on my own. It is absolutely fine and a great feeling knowing each day you can please yourself and do whatever you want to do and eat whereever you want.

100% agree. You pick the agenda, no debating over activities, restaurants and if the place is a particular site seeing spot you can fill your days with your own preferences. Plus, fab can add company too if you get lonely during the holiday.

I never done it but I wake early and your always sitting around on balcony reading book waiting for people to wake. Your always meet people I do then you wish you was alone cos the people you meet more interesting than friends you went with ..my holiday due June in Jamaica this ant going to happen now

You mooch around and do your own thing. If you booking book for say 3 or 4 days on the first trip and see how you get on.

Travel lots for work and am always on my own and it can get a bit lonely eating on your own but it's not the worst thing in the world.

Good luck with it.

I have done it, i think omce a person is happy in their own skin then its more than half the battle. Maybe we should have a singles swing holiday. I know that some groups from fab have went on trips.

When I broke up with an ex

None of my friends were available so

I flew off to Krakow, Poland and made

a few amazing friends in no time at all

I've also found that going to an Irish Bar abroad

is also a surefire winner for meeting new people too!

Hell, we might even have ourselves a FAB lads holiday

when we all get through this ... AND WE WILL!

GO ON DA LAD!!

Stay strong mate

Yes if you are a social person then your good to go. I am a bit introverted and also abit of an extrovert. Maybe we could just go a group mixed with just whoever wants to go. I think that's what alot of groups do here. But a lads holiday definitely sounds good for ye guys. Check out the swing world in other parts of the world if ye haven't already.

Im used to travelling on my own at this stage

Some good and bad things to it.

The best think about it is that you make the itinerary and can decide to do or see as much or as little as possible

I love museums and art galleries so once a year I go to london,Paris,Berlin or Amsterdam for 4 days

Spend 10 hours each day seeing everything I want to

I eat in pubs or busy restaurants so it doesnt make a difference if I'm alone

The other break I take every year is a few days in Spain just lying beside a pool or nudist beach and giving my brain a chance to re-boot

My last trip was to Paris in December but I don't know when I'll get to go anywhere again soon

Yes went to Morocco on me own, one of my best holidays ever.

Anyhow there's different types of small group travels on offer ie tour of Sicily, trip to the desert etc. where you join a group of fellow travelers. You quickly get to know the others and some of those arrangements offer a really good and interesting programme.

Are you talking about a holiday on your own or a singles holiday where everyone is in a group and do things together?

If you dont feel comfortable on your own you could try the travel department, lots of people travel to the destinations alone but the company plan your itinerary, day trips etc..you can meet other people on their own too

Yes...travelled on my own when I was younger and have done it all again recently.

It opens a lot of doors and can be self assuring and good for independence. And I always meet people to chat too,or socialise with.

Enjoy.!

I haven't done it yet but I certainly plan to it's not awkward at all its normally me myself and I anyway except for some cases being friendly with the locals certainly is bonus blend in with the crowds I've been in places completely on my own and before the end of the night I'm hanging around random people just enjoying ourselves so go ahead and do it man I guess being on your own it's your rules your way simple

Last year I went alone on a holiday for the first time. I found it so relaxing. I met some people who at the place I stayed in had a few drinks with them ..I booked a day tour for myself and met some nice people.

For me it was a nice experience. I would definitely go again alone.

And there always meet people around that you can talk to

Any suggestions? I’m thinking of Tenerife next. Some great walks and lots of nudist beaches

La Gomera is far better if you want to escape the crowds and like hiking.

Tenerife better for beaches though

I always travel alone, there is no awkardness, you meet differsnt people all the time from visting places, sitting out having lunch or dinner, and at bars in the night time. As other said you can set your own agenda to when you want to do things or not.

Newry Down

Going on holiday abroad is simply too stressful; I haven't had a passport for over thirty years and thus have not travelled abroad in that time period.

There are lots of great activities available in Ireland, and crucially I am used to the weather, food, climate and people.

Travelling abroad is just too much hassle and too much unnecessary expense.

Going on a solo holiday is brilliant. You make all the decisions for you, not to compromise or satisfy someone else. I love it.
