Hi all

Im struggling a little with a decent first message. I love to chat but my mind seems to just go blank. This in turn means i havent successfully met or really chatted. Any advice would be great.

gosport ish

There is no perfect formula or first message op as people will like different things from it. Just be polite, enough info to catch their interest by using something you’ve read in their profile.

Hello, OP, and welcome to the forum. There is no 'one size fits all' kind of message that would appeal to every single person on here. Best advice: read profile, and try to tailor your message to that profile.

Also, just a well-thought message is not enough yet to get a reply. People normally look on the sender's profile to see whether they are interested enough to engage in a chat with them. Is your profile as good as it could be, representing fully who you are and what you have to offer?

I’ve tried to use things of interest, of which I can relate to from the profile, tried a joke, something that rhymes... nowt!

Must be me!

Oh well

Maybe it's people offended by Cockney rhyming slang ? Or some discrepancies in your profile . But as you say you go to Chams, going to clubs is often a lot easier for guys than messaging . Message me if you need any explanation of my comment .

I think the problem is if the message isn't you and then you can't communicate in the same way face to face then you will fall flat on that face and that will be the end of the meet then you will have have wasted yours and their time.

You need to just be true to yourself, maybe a bit of insight into yourself and go from their, there is no right or wrong and you have no guarantees

Good luck though

Believe it or not, my favourite first message was an insult

I won't repeat what he wrote, but it was obviously done in a cheeky way and amusing enough to be interpreted as a clever way to open up a dialogue with me.

Unfortunately I didn't fancy him enough to meet, but if he had been my type, I certainly would've been keen to see where it would have gone.

It doesnt make much of a difference how well it is written tbh. Pictures play the bigger role. A msg demonstrating you have read their profile, light hearted with some banter is easy to fire off...if your face isnt what they want its game over. Which is fair enough...just dont be expecting a great msg to win anyone over

There isn't a good first message its not one message fits all if you want people to take you seriously and be interested it should be a personal individual message.

I have tried all sorts of messages, never crude or with dick pics and always tailored to the profile. Its then pot luck if you get a reply or not. Just keep going and some you will win and some you will lose

For me it has to make me smile, preferably has some reference to me, is not crude/ rude, correct spelling and grammar but most importantly is not needy....

Everyone is different of course and I think it's a case of just keep going...good luck x

Individual and specific to the person receiving it.

Offended by slang. Oh sorry, I should have had white male trash! Raspberry ripple isn’t just a derogatory alternative description for a cripple! It actually has reference to me NOT being into hard BDSM / Dom / humiliation / etc....

I could consider changing my user name.... but naaa think I’ll leave it
