Confused Golfer

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can help us, I (The Mr of the species) am a confused golfer, who asked my wife if she could find me a great website to help improve my swinging and getting my balls in the hole more regularly.

She directed me here.

Unfortunately, I've not seen a single tip on how to successfully nestle up to the hole and slip it in. I've seen people using all kinds of clubs of different sizes, all much superior to mine I must say, but no advice on putting from the rough or laying one slap-bang up the middle.

As such, I'm a bit confused.

Anyway, if there is anyone who'd like to get their hands on my bag and grip my wood enthusiastically, please let us know.

While we're out playing a round, my missus says she'll help a few enthusiastic others from the site clean their balls and shafts, which I think is very kind of her.

Yes this is a long-winded hello. If you think this is bad, read the profile.

glasgow

You haven't made it clear whether you're more interested in the front 9 or back 9. It's quite important in the game as it can dictate your strategy.

My wife said she d been hit by a ball between holes one and two, I think her stance was too wide...

Very good intro by the way.

Some good (and higly amusing advice!) already here.

As for whether I like to play the front or back, I am a full round kind of golfer. Nothing like dusting down the shaft and giving the head a good workout in my view.

I've even been known to polish my balls before a good 3 hours.

As for the lady who had the problem between the first and second holes... I do sympathise, I've had my own issues on the course too. I've even been known to roll it into the wrong hole, which as you can imagine, wasn't awfully well received.
