"Everyone of us is different, in terms of what we like and expect, just as you are op. General advice appears to be to personalise your message, if you are able to. This will mean fully reading the profile that you're contacting, so that you're more sure that they're looking for someone like you and that you share appropriate interests. It's too easy to be blinded by lust, because we want others so much, so that we diminish what's not positive and enhance the positive aspects of people being a good fit for us. Be realistic, so that your time, as well as the recipient's, is invested wisely. Keep the tone fairly light.
