Where to begin???

Hi all,

We are both new to this experience and were wondering, how you would suggest we take the next step, by visiting a swingers club, private invitation or by meeting up privately?

I would suggest you attend a social or arrange a social meet with somebody that takes your fancy. I believe if you haven't been to a club before it might be a bit too much too soon.

A social meet can quickly progress to something more exciting if you so wish - or, alternatively you can say thanks but no thanks.

I always try to verify people you plan to meet by talking on the phone.

It depends on you. I wouldn't have been at all comfortable in a club so our first meet was in a guy's home.

Everyone's different though and you might find you love it.

I would suggest a social meet then its not a jump in at the deep end as you are new. Just don't rush things and talk between you then you are both on the same page. Good luck hope you have fun here.

You will probably get a varied amount of advice from others..clubs, socials or home meets..but whatever advice you take, just take things at your own pace, there is no rush to meet anybody. Swinging is all about mutual fun, and remember, you do not have to participate in anything you are not comfortable with ..

We found that clubs were a great way to start exploring what we might want/not want from swinging. We spent a lot of club nights meeting fun new people on a social level, and often not actually having sex with anyone except each other - but we could have a good look at what sorts of other things were going on. Then we could go back and discuss whether or not those were things we'd like to do together, separately, or not at all.

We first went to torture garden about 10 years ago and are going to our first social in Bristol in October. I know for some people a social might be the best way in, but later is better for us because we've got much more of a sense of what we are actually looking for now when we involve other people in our sex life!

We also spent a long time this summer making lists of every sexual interaction we knew of (we hit 150!) then categorised it what each of us knows we like, what we'd like to try, what we might want to try but aren't sure, and what we don't want to do, then comparing our lists and looking at what we can do to have the best fun outcomes. We've learned some interesting things about each other in the process, including situations that we might have avoided because both of us thought the other didn't want to do something whereas actually that wasn't the case! We updated our profile on here a couple of days ago to reflect that and we're pretty excited for what more understanding of each other's wants/needs will add to our awesome sex life as a couple
