Wilmslow

After an unsuccessful first foray on Fab, I took a break and tried more conventional ways to meet people. No luck there either. Any guidance for a single dad? All pointers appreciated.

There and to the left a bit

Well your profile text is very good (some parts of it are almost strangely familiar) and your pics are well taken - so nothing to comment on there.

Beyond that it really is about patience, being polite and respectful, not having unrealistic expectations and maintaining a positive attitude.

Getting along to organised socials and clubs, or even getting more involved in the forums are all great ways of getting to know people and getting yourself known

You can’t improve in perfection, sorry about that

None necessary, I take it as a compliment plain and simple

Tamworth

I'd say your profile is good so as Gemini said, it's a time thing. Are you able to get to a social or a club? It's a good starting point.

I would like to but have two children and no one else to support. Very much a not ideal situation. C’est la vie.

I live in North Wales. Visit Scotland regularly. A chat sounds nice

On here I'd suggest knocking around in the forums and getting involved in the threads. It's worked for me.

I'm sorry to break this to you OP but if you have nobody to look after your children while you go to a social then you are going to struggle to get meets on fab.

Who will look after your children if you do get a meet? If you plan on bringing someone into your home while the children are in bed it is very unlikely to happen - very few people would be comfortable with this.

You have a point but meeting someone for coffee during the day is a lot easier. Which is what I’m looking for.

OP if we lived in the same country I’d meet you! Although I don’t like tea or coffee, so it would be a hot chocolate for me

somewhere in the Shire of Derby

You need to add in your profile description the best times for you to meet e.g. weekdays during school hours or evenings etc. That way people who are available at similar times will see and more likely to message

You’ve had a huge amount of advice over all of your threads as far back as 14 weeks ago, most of it the same.

There is no magic formula, present yourself in the best way you can and keep going.
