Read or un-read mail??

Hiya all this is new to me so please could someone explain the mail system.

Obviously deleted means not interested but can you explain "Been Read".

does this mean you could be interested but not yet replied or is it just bean read and wont answer back?

Just means its been read mate some mite not delet dont know why so i wouldnt get your hopes up

It doesn't mean anything other than what it says - its been read. It's not a response from whoever you wrote to.

I read mail then leave it there until I do a mass delete. Same with winks and friends invites...

Different people will do it in a different way though

But would you think bout some of the mail you read before you delete it all?/

I sometimes leave mail as read without replying or deleting. Could be several reasons - I may not have time to reply straightaway, I may want to think about whether I'm interested enough in the other person. I may be interested but seeing someone regularly and not have time to see someone new fairly soon...

As someone else said, it means NOTHING except that it's been read. Don't read anything into it and don't assume you're entitled to an instant reply or indeed any reply.

Well that is what i was thinking that it might just be time for them to read it properly.

Would it annoy you if they messaged again?

Yes, it would annoy me if I got another message before I'd decided to reply to the first or not (or not had time to), especially if it was a whinge wanting to know why I hadn't replied yet. Other people might be more laid back but I personally don't like being pressurised like that and will block anyone who does that to me.

You'd do well to remember that sending a message does not entitle you to a reply, no matter how much you want one.

Good grief. Clutching at straws much! Bless. Been read means.... your mail has been opened. It may or may not have actually been read and the recipient may have decided its worthy of a reply which could be good or bad news. It may also been they have had a quick look and arent going to bother replying. Most common reason would be not reading their profile comprehensively or not liking your profile or the content of your message. IN OTHER WORDS... nobody can tell you what it means as it differs from person to person. I never delete mail it just trots off the bottom. I always reply as long as person has read my profile and is everything I have asked for. I think its good manners. Only guys who dont get a reply from me are the ones who are clearly not what I asked for and therefore didnt bother to read my profile. Hope this helps. Its a long sometimes difficult road on here... good luck! Just enjoy site and stop trying to second guess everyone and any fun comes as a bonus.

Ok thanx. I do read all the profile before i message them if i fit what they are looking for.

I understand it is a waste of your time with abusive messages but that is not me.

i try to incorporate what they want in my messages

God yes, those that do message me without a) waiting for a response, or b) assume because I didnt delete it I am interested do get both the new one unread, and the one read, deleted as a response

means just read nothing more dont read more into it than that unless , an actual reply or wink has been sent this to me indicated interest or would like to know more .
