FabSwingers.com forum: Expectations and etiquette

Hi everyone,

I stumbled across FabS a few months ago but am yet to really peruse and participate in the Forums.

I just wanted to say hello and if possible get some advice in preparation for my first visit to a swinging venue next month.

What can I be likely to expect? Excuse my naivity, maybe this entirely dependant on the type of club/evening I go to, or the others attending? More importantly, as a single male, can you offer me up any swinging etiquette or rules I should adhere to?

I consider myself a polite individual and like to treat people the way I would expect to be treated so hopefully I should be fine, but I'm wary about stepping into unchartered territory.

Venues do vary greatly.

First question what sort of venue are you planning to attend, ie a club, a social, an organised event such as Erotica2010, a swinger friendly hotel, a party or other ?

If it's a club knowing which club will help people to advise you

Hi Stockies,

I live in the South East, but tend to travel into London on the weekends so it could be any number of clubs in London. Maybe 'F Club' in Wandsworth? Or possibly Pleasures in Kent.

I think I am likely to go to a normal club night first of all. Looking for a way to ease myself in gently and still give myself the scope to be shocked in the future

OK these are not clubs we have had personal experience of but many here have, the first advice I would give is to go to Fabs CLUBS page and read the clubs own website for information.

Then read reviews from the people who have visited the club to see what the customers think (the reviews are on the CLUBS page.

Many clubs have restrictions on single male attendance, ie Couples only nights or waiting lists for single males to join, be sure to telephone the club to see the current membership situation.

Some clubs have dress codes, from "smart" to "smart casual" to clubs like Chameleons which operates a Towel (supplied) or Boxers or theme outfits (policeman etc) for guys, sexy outfits and lingerie for ladies policy.

Some clubs are licensed some are not, check to see if you should take your own alcohol.

Don't drink too much when your there, it can actually take less than your normal intake to get d*unk in a club, this is because people use facilities such as Jacuzzis or steam rooms and sauna's, The heat of such facilities thins the blood and the alcohol has a greater effect than during normal consumption.

Expect to see naked people and people having sex, quite simple really lol.

REMEMBER - NO means NO, respect everyone and they will respect you.

Some single females and couples go for the single guys some don't bear that in mind.

Considering I am asking for advice I think I may have posted this thread in the wrong section, but thanks for the headsup nonetheless Stockies.

I will have a look at the clubs section and all the reviews to help weigh up which club to break my swinging virginity in.

Alcohol won't be a problem. I haven't d*unk now for several years. Prefer to generate my own endorphins.

Will people just be having sex everywhere? I hear about people booking rooms? Isn't this slightly presumptuous of me to do if I don't arrange to meet someone at a club?

Yes wrong thread but so long as you get a repsonse and your questions answered no harm done, you might get more advice if you post it again on the other thread though.

I don't know of any clubs where you have to book rooms.

Chameleons for instance has a number of private lockable rooms, group rooms, couples only room, erotic cinema, sunbeds, jacuzzi's, sauna, steam room, dungeon, orgy room, chill out tv room, roof garden, smoking area, bar/social area, secluded social areas etc, some rooms have viewing windows some have toys like a swing.

When the room is empty you can use it or if invited join those in the room (except of course the couples only room)

Don't worry about the alcohol mention I try to answer peoples questions in a general manner in the hope that it will help others that have the same questions/doubts etc.

Very true! At least people aren't forced to just fuck on the bar or on the floor. But I'm getting the impression it might tickle some people's fancy, and providing others could still order a drink, I don't suppose they would mind.

Chameleons sounds like a lot of fun. Multiple dens of iniquity!

Apologies about the booze. Egotistical of me to think you were only directing your comment to me. Hopefully other people will benefit from your words of wisdome in the future x

If only more of the younger generation expressed a modicum of refinement.

I thought with age, came wisdom?!

Please note I'm not judging anyone on their literacy, I believe we are all equal, and you certainly don't need to spell to be astounding in the bedroom.

Having rhythm is more important than the ability to spell such a word with no ordinary vowels.

I just have the feeling my profile might put off some people who are less interested in any form of mental stimulation. However, this is most likely just 'Single Male Syndrome'. x
