Just wanted to say thanks

This is related to my previous (and first ever) post.

Being a completely new member - and a single guy at that - I really didn't know what to expect and wasn't really anticipating any response to be honest. How wrong was I! Within hours of posting my tentative message up in the "Introduction Forum" I received a very kind and constructive email and have since had many more replies to my post, in fact they're still coming!

So, can I give you all a big juicy thank you for being so kind and considerate, I already feel like part of the family!

Well impressed

Hopefully a number of other prospectors will read and digest this thread and your other thread. They will surely learn a thing or two.

Most people here will respond to well written notes, whether here in the forums or by PM.

It's one liners and text speak we tend to ignore.

Don't want to come across as patronising but remember when we were kids, mom would say "if you want something, ask nicely.."

Not patronising at all, in fact, never a truer word spoken - it was the way I was raised by my parents and I've just carried it on through my life.

The way I'm going to approach this is if somebody has taken the time and effort to write a profile, the least I should do is be decent enough to read it and take it all in then if I do try to make contact I know that I'm approaching somebody who I feel I may have some form of connection with, whatever that may be.

There'll be occasions when I'm wrong, but I guess that's all part of it.

Ha ha Jezebel, no shag yet no, I've never been that quick a worker!

To be honest though, I'm just enjoying getting used to the site, making contact in the forums and finding my feet - as you know, I'm completely new to this so I need to learn a little first, don't want to run before I can walk (jeez, I'm so full of cliches!).

This is the point though isn't it? Look at the OP's language, his manner, the fact he can string words together.

This is the kind of single guy who, when we receive emails from, we look at and go "yes, cool guy, made an effort" before we even do anything as superficial as check a photo or likes / dislikes.

We do say so often that first impressions count, but 99% of people on this site seem to think they absolutely do not. Well, for some of us, they do.

Here's to the OP getting what he deserves, which is much fun.

Thank you so much guys, it's nice to share thoughts with people of a similar outlook!

I tried another site before this one (not a swinger site I might add) and adopted the exact same approach as I have here without so much as a "thanks but no thanks" so it makes a refreshing change to get so many positive comments, feedback and responses as I have in the very short space of time I've been on here.

Hopefully it will continue that way.
