Depends what you want the outcome to be, and your time constraints etc.

I'd always champion outside. It engages your core, you can add inclines better than you can on a treadmill (unless you have opted for a really expensive one). Being outdoors is good for your mental health, it's not boring. You can be sociable if you want to be. You can do it anywhere.....

I have been walking daily...weather turning now so have purchased a basic treadmill thinking I can walk whatever the weather...not sure if one is better on joints etc ...got a great tan this year walking daily

Walking. It’s free, you get to see far more places you didn’t know where there and you get to relax and take in being outside.

It has some many benefits

Treadmills are incredibly boring (as are static bikes) if you're walking outside there's more to see

Treadmills

It's more intense with incline, cardiovascular, not having to treck miles and still being in the same spot. The correct music helps the pace mentally

Use the stair master at the gym. Trust me it’s really good
